Title: PWI says DDP is done with TNA.....

According to several sources, former WCW World champion Diamond Dallas Page is gone from TNA. Page finished at the Hard Justice PPV this past Sunday. TNA management may not be seeing Page's departure as a loss as they were unhappy that he didn't want to put over Monty Brown without outside interference from Phi-Delta Slam.

It is believed that Page's status was a byproduct of due to the change in political power with Dusty Rhodes (who Page has always credited for helping make him a star and was close to) stepping down as booker. There really wasn't much left for Page to do in the company at this point either beyond putting over others. As noted earlier on PWInsider.com, Page is filming an episode of Entourage tomorrow and is finishing up his "Yoga for Real Guys" book

I thought Page could be a help when he was first coming in, but that didn't happen. I guess the fewer granddads that they have on their roster the better.

Too bad they couldn't even give DDP a decent opponent his entire time there. It wouldn't have been bad too see him fight some of the younger guys....

Odd thing about that is he and JJ were both WCW champs, though I'd consider DDP about 10X more esteemed. JJ holds the belt for the better part of 2 years, while Page does nothing.

That would probably be because DDP actually won the title in WCW when it was still doing alright. Jeff was on top their as the ship was sinking.

Exactly. So why TNA didn't try to capitalize on a REAL world champ, I'll never know.

Your guess is as good as mine.........there IS no reason.

Possibly because his last name isn't Jarrett?

I remember Page's first two WCW title reigns coming right as the company began to take a HUGE nosedive, in the Spring of 99. Same time they broke up the Horsemen, Riki Rachtman was around, Ric Flair went to a mental hospital, Piper was "RPVP", Tank Abbott debutted and the "big" return of Randy Savage. Only bright spots were Rey Mysterio vs. Nash, and a good DDP-Sting match on Nitro.

When Jarrett had the title, they had already drowned. Page had it when they were drowning.

As for Page being off TV...well, "It's Time"!
