Title: Corny gets suspended.....

dynamite kido - May 10, 2005 05:38 PM (GMT)
QUOTE
According to one source, Jim Cornette has been suspended by WWE for six weeks due to several recent outbursts at Ohio Valley Wrestling, including most recently one at last week's TV taping where he cut a huge promo backstage on Kevin Fertig for wearing a baseball cap while working in the ring for a dark match. The word going around at the Raw taping last night was that Cornette was being disciplined by the company.

As noted earlier on PWInsider.com, Tommy Dreamer informed OVW's roster yesterday that Cornette would be "on vacation" for the next 4-5 weeks and Dreamer would be overseeing OVW's weekly TV show, which tapes Wednesdays in Louisville, Kentucky

Yikes. Calm down Jim

This is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. The WWF is just getting stupid with what they punish people for.

Its not so much that, but Corny has a habit of losing his temper publicly over niggling things.

IIRC, there was a load of the guys down there watching an ECW video a while back, and he went NUTS, and busted the owner of the tape down to the beginners class out of spite

Let's see... Jim Cornette, the most recognized and beloved manager that is still alive (besides Bobby Heenan), who gave a verbal lashing at a guy for wearing a baseball cap during his match, gets suspended? OK.

Why would Fertig be wearing a baseball cap anyway? Last I knew, his characters were all dark and mysterious types. I mean, that's the point of why Cornette would be upset in the first place, but why would Fertig even think about wearing it.

Though I guess it's like when I was in Guys and Dolls years ago and one of the guys accidently wore his sneakers on stage during the production. The director had some tense words for him afterwards. Same thing, I guess.

I didn't know Dreamer was next in line to run shows for OVW.

The WWF is really getting weird about what upsets them.
