Ring of Honor announced this afternoon that Christopher Daniels will make his official return to the company for the first time since January 2004 on the promotion's 7/16 debut in New Haven, CT. He had been expected to return to the company this summer, particularly after his webmaster posted a series of ROH dates (that were quickly removed) several weeks back.
Daniels, a former ROH Tag Team champion, was one of the original main eventers for the company when it debuted back in February 2002. He had been written out during a feud with CM Punk's Second City Saints after "injuring his neck" during a six man tag bout in Dayton, Ohio. ROH fans had been clamoring for his return from the moment, literally, he was pulled from the company by TNA, and now they have their wish.
In his return, Daniels will be facing the debuting Matt Hardy in Hardy's first official independent wrestling match after his release from World Wrestling Entertainment.

I really don't see their styles meshing well. We'll see what Matt does without the restrictions of WWE though.

I think they would be fine. Matt can work with people that are smaller than him (which Daniels is) and he can work a lighter style. Plus, I think Daniels would be able to help the match out as far as being able to work several different styles.....

I think they'll do fine together, especially considering Daniels did a bunch of OMEGA stuff back in the day.

Hmm... having a match below "good" with Christopher Daniels takes a lot of "talent", so I can see them having a pretty good match.
However, Matt Hardy has been injured since August of 2004, and will most definitely be a little rusty in his movements and pacing, so that might effect the match.

I was hoping Daniels' return would be a surprise so it could set up an angle (ie: attacking Punk after a match), but this will do I guess. I think they'd mesh just fine.

I think if they did a new Prophecy with just Daniels and Hardy it would be pretty decent. Matt could use his Angelic Diablo character..........

But wasn't it written reall weird? I picked it up in a bookstore a couple of times, and it just looked like an impossible format to follow.

It was written a little weird, but it's not hard to follow at all. You could actually probably find a cheap copy online somewhere too.......it was a good read though.
