Title: News on TV deal..etc
Description: From the Observer

TNA's deal with FSN is going to be up in a few weeks. The network wants them to renew for at least 6 months but they only wanted a "month by month" deal. WGN has made them a good offer and they could start by next month or July with them. A decision will have to be made quick because they claim Spike TV is still interested and they have another meeting set up. However, if a deal was made they obviously couldn't begin until Oct. after WWE left. Meltzer said if they got Spike TV, the best and only choice would be to shut down until they could go on in the fall with a huge media blitz the weeks before. There was also a small blurb that Antonio Inoki has offered to buy the company because he would love controlling rights of the NWA Titles.

Monty Brown was not used at the last TNA tapings because they are pressuring him to sign a new contract before July but he is holding off if WWE decides to make him an offer.

Now after pressure from the Carter Family, Jarrett says he will drop the title but he doesn't want to do it for AJ. He was thinking to Monty after a face turn but obviously those plans are up in the air until Monty has a decision.

Inoki owning the company could be interesting. That would mean we'd get Bryan Danielson and James Gibson in TNA right away.

I think they need to take the WGN deal.

I doubt there is a WGN offer on the table, or I'd have to think they'd jump at it.

Mad Dog - May 9, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
I think there is but they're stupidly holding on to the hope that they can get a deal with Spike Tv for whatever reasons.

So Jarrett won't job the title to AJ.

Man the guy makes me laugh sometimes

Mad Dog - May 9, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
The belt's part of the power struggle now. It's all Jarrett's got in the war he's losing with the Carters.

Scrooge McSuck - May 9, 2005 11:27 PM (GMT)
Now I can see why people call Jarrett "Triple J." Refusing to put the title on a younger, and much more talented wrestler, and opts to do the job to a guy who sucks in the ring and cuts whacked out promos.

Now I will step in here. If given between the choice of jobbing to AJ or Brown he's very correct in choosing Brown. Brown's got the buzz surrounding him and is the future of the company if he hangs around.

I'd say Ron Killings is a better choice than Styles as well.

I'd rather have Killings than either Brown or Styles, but come on... if I want a World Champion that is overhyped in every category, I'll watch Raw.

Brown's buzz died with his heel turn. They fucked it up already and it will seem like bullshit if he beats Jeff for it now. They had the chase and they killed it........

Scrooge McSuck - May 10, 2005 12:41 AM (GMT)
I forgot that... why turn him heel in the first place if you feel you should put the title on him soon?

Jeff Jarrett - obviously hasn't learned a fucking thing from 1997-2001 WCW.

whitemilesdavis - May 10, 2005 03:44 PM (GMT)
Any buzz Brown had is dead, and to be honest, I never bought him as championship material anyway.

S.T. Strickler - May 10, 2005 11:30 PM (GMT)
I don't think they should put Impact on WGN. Not everybody has that station, like me.

Scrooge McSuck - May 10, 2005 11:39 PM (GMT)
Newsflash: Not everyone gets FSN, like me. Go WGN! :)

dynamite kido - May 11, 2005 12:09 AM (GMT)
If WGN is better for them financially, then they should go. Otherwise, maybe they can use the interest to get FSN to lower their rates.
