Title: As a kid..
Description: what defined wrestling for you?

Big F'N Swigg - May 5, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
When I was a kid, there were a few things in wrestling that were guarantees:

The faces high fived the fans.
-Bret Hart did it, Flyin' Brian and the Z-Man did it, The Ultimate Warrior did it. It was a way of saying "I like you, fans." HBK didn't do it, Flair didn't do it, and Dibiase didn't do it. They didn't do it because they hated the fans.

The coolest moves were...
-Armdrags, dropkicks, Boston Crabs and DDT's. If you had all four of those, you were SOOOOOOOO badass.

The best commentators were Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan.
-Schiavone never held a candle, though JR was close behind

The top rope was high risk
-And boy were we told about it. A LOT. So much that it actually made any top rope maneuver a high spot that almost equaled the face winning.

Fat guys were good tag team wrestlers.
-Not only that, but if you could pick them up, you were Title bound.

more to come.....

I couldn't agree more on the last one (as well as the High risk comments)

In Battle Royals, if you weigh over 350 pounds, you are automatically the odds on favorite despite being a Giant Jobber. They STILL do it today!

You know the term "with authority" by heart and in which lexical context it's used.

I think it was "Pier 6 brawl". I remember saying that about fights in elementary school all the time.
