Title: In Living Color
Description: Recognize the greatness... from year 1-3

Since I've been watching my Season 1 DVD set of In Living Color, I went against my better judgment and ordered Season 2, a week before Season 3 is released. ILC reigns as my favorite sketch comedy show from the past 15 years (I never watch SNL though), and featured some great sketches.

To name a few...

Homey The Clown's "Homee Cheese" sketch from Season 2. Just so damn funny. Damon Wayans plays a convict on a work release program, and is forced to be a clown. The only problem with that, is the fact he is just a bitter person about "the man" holding him down, and constantly hits kids with his over-sized sock. Featuring the Homee Cheese song, and Wayans making an ass out of Tommy Davidson.

Jim Carrey's imitation of Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice, Baby, titled "White White, Baby". Short and sweet... Carrey acts super white, can't dance, and has horribly lyrics. This was edited from the DVD because of copyright issues, but I have it taped from FX a few years ago.

Lean on Me, Beautiful, starrting Keenan Ivory Wayans as the character "Joe Clark" (from Lean on Me), where he assaults ugly kids in a beauty school. The best part is convincing David Alan Grier to jump out of a window because he had a bad perm and was ugly.

Three Champs and a Baby. Another movie parody, with Tommy Davidson as Sugar Rey Leonard, David Alan Grier as Muhammad Ali, and Damon Wayans as Mike Tyson. Non-stop laughs for the entire sketch, including Tyson trying to get Buster Douglas to fight him, by disguising his voice (he wrapped a towel around the phone).

I liked the first couple of years but it got real bad real quick if I remember correctly.

Once the entire Wayans clan left (or at least the talented ones) over a dispute with FOX, they were replaced with a bunch of unfunny wannabe comedians. Season 4 was just terrible (Simpsons Seasons 10-15 terrible), and I think the show was canceled a few weeks into Season 5.

:sigh: So many high and low points in that show. One of the skits I remember is the "Blooper Skit." It starts with Carrey coming-in dressed as a waiter, trips, and throws everything he was holding. He turns to camera, "Oops. I can't believe I did that. ...And all on accident." It was mega cheesy, but I like cheese.

Do you like "Gubment" Cheese? :) It seems to be the favorite kind in In Living Color.

I was HUGE into this when it first came out. Plus, at the time as a kid I was really into hip hop and it was another place to see hip hop acts. At the end of the show they used to bring someone on to perform as the credits rolled. I remember almost shitting myself when they announced Public Enemy.
