Mad Dog - May 2, 2005 12:50 PM (GMT)
I predict we'll get treated to 20 minutes of HHH to start the show tonight because it would just be a crime to not actually focus on the champion.

SamoaRowe - May 2, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
I predict Triple H will get yet another rematch without actually doing anything to earn it within the storyline.

The Vengeance poster would support my belief :P

Scrooge McSuck - May 2, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
I predict Raw will suck tonight, and Triple H will squash another midcarder.

Also, Hurricane and Rosey will probably lose the titles already. ROSEY-CANE~! WOOO!~

That would be a shame since I really marked out hard for their victory last night :)

I see them with the titles for perhaps a week or two. And when they lose them, I'm shooting for the Heart Throbs.

Scrooge McSuck - May 2, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)
Yeah, because giving the tag titles to two brand new teams inside of a two week period is REALLY creative booking.

Wait, this is WWE... that can happen every day.

Right. But at they're a tag team and not to two singles they don't know what to do with. And they were a popular tag team in OVW, and same with M-N-M.

Scrooge McSuck - May 2, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
Who says I or anyone who doesn't follow OVW like them? :P I like MNM, but I hate the name... for the obvious reason.

Whenever I "MNM just beat down Rey Mysterio" I have two images:

A white rapper just came in and laid-out Rey Mysterio or
The red or yellow M&Ms just came in and laid out Rey Mysterio.

And that's when it comes to me.

Let's face it: the red and yellow M and M being managed by the green M and M would be a far better gimmick than some ho and two guys who I want to punch in the face.

Though I may be biased

prof_plague - May 3, 2005 03:09 AM (GMT)
That was a good ending to the Triple H/Benoit match. I was actually a little surprised. I'm still hoping that the Vegeance poster was a swerve.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Holy crap... BENOIT WON! TRIPLE H JOBBED!

Shawn Michaels killed Benjamin with that superkick earlier... good match, but not great or anything.

Mad Dog - May 3, 2005 03:21 AM (GMT)
Shelton/Michaels I can't really say. I was so annoyed by Michaels going over another up and comer that I didn't care about the match.

prof_plague - May 3, 2005 05:18 AM (GMT)
I knew Michaels was going to win, but I was hoping that Benjamin would. You know, pushing the IC Champ and all. I know it's concept, but it just might work.

jamiegeist - May 3, 2005 06:05 AM (GMT)
I marked out for the proposition of a Michaels/Benjamin match when that music hit. I was entertained and impressed, but it wasn't immortal. Nice match that, and great finish, witht he exception of HBK winning.

I was completely FUCKING BORED with the rest of the show, being so goddam predictable. Add to the fact that Christian essentially got squashed, and the crowd was fucking lame, and I was in major fast-forward mode by the main event. I didn't think there was a CHANCE in hell that Triple H was tapping or losing.

So I jumped up like a little girl when it happened, even though I had no interest in the match cause they had numbed me down by that point.

And why put Edge and Lita within the vicinity of each other? Just to make everyone uncomfortable? And the Masters thing needs to stop. Now.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
That is pretty much my feelings on the show, except you bad mouthed Kane, but really didn't.

whitemilesdavis - May 3, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
Everyone who was excited about the Christian push.....

It's over.

All in all I like RAW, though. I thought the wrong people went over in several matches, but pretty good matches.

Mad Dog - May 3, 2005 12:34 PM (GMT)
Looks like HHH got threatened by Christian and feels the need to bury him.

dynamite kido - May 3, 2005 12:56 PM (GMT)
I was thrilled to see Trips loose to Benoit only to realize that they will say next week that Benoit got hurt and Trips will take his place......

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 01:08 PM (GMT)
What do you mean, Christians push is over? Because he lost?

Strange Info: Triple H has now jobbed two night in a row, and is forever pushed.

This will just fuel Christians fire, if anything.

dynamite kido - May 3, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)
Last night pretty much said to me that Xian is Smackdown bound.....

Mad Dog - May 3, 2005 01:14 PM (GMT)
If they're seriously pushing Christian he would've had a PPV match and would've had a win at some point in recent memory. I know you're a fan of Kane but Kane shouldn't be beating a heel that's as hot as Christian right now.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 01:24 PM (GMT)
If this was a No DQ match, I wouldn't even complain. But logically speaking, how does Christian beat Kane fair and square? Count-out or DQ sounds pretty lame, and Kane can't afford to be jobbed out... again. Also, it would be rather pointless since we all know it's an angle leading to Christian being moved to Smackdown.

I'm actually being quite fair in this argument, because I've been supporting Christian for the past 4 months.

Mad Dog - May 3, 2005 01:28 PM (GMT)
If Shane McMahon and X-Pac dominated a feud with Kane I think Christian could get a win.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 01:30 PM (GMT)
...Why must you bring up the Shane McMahon feud? (cries) X-Pac didn't deserve to be in that position either, but it makes sense, since he "humanized" Kane for a while, and took advantage of that.

Christian was the curtain jerker, got squashed in basically a two on one match, and then got ridiculed backstage and wasn't seen again. He's not getting pushed. He will switch to Smackdown, get beat by Cena, and drop back down the card.

See, that's how people would get behind him. The little guy who won't quit. He could use his speed and craftiness to stay one up on Kane who was weakened by his match last night. If they wanted to push Christian, Kane could afford the loss in that situation.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 01:57 PM (GMT)
Now that's one problem with booking these days...

WWE (and WCW when it was around) has poisoned us to the point that we feel that if someone loses, they lose their heat and get shunted down the card. There's no two way road in a match result, and that really sucks.

whitemilesdavis - May 3, 2005 02:02 PM (GMT)
I disagree. While that is true with some people, a guy like Kane could have lost clean last night and been fine. JR and King could have put over how he was less than 24 hrs removed from a fight with a 500lb'er, was fighting basically Tomko and Christian, and how Christian just wouldn't quit. Kane would have been no worse off next week.

Except for Kane, who could lose and be instant main event material. Not that I care for Kane that much, it's just the position the company has put him in since day one.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
Hmm.. I never thought of it like that (both comments). It's just a natural reaction by me now that if one person goes over someone that's about twice their size, then that person losing gets screwed.

Anyway, I hope next week we get Kane/Benoit. They had some great matches last year on house shows, at Bad Blood, and on the 6/28/04 Raw.

Kane just has the natural look for a champion. He's a big guy who could squash anybody based on that, using size as an advantage. That's why it's so difficult to see someone like Christian as champion, no matter how over he is.

dynamite kido - May 3, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
I would say that Kane has a natural look as champion but he's always a instant main event guy because of his size it's usually believable to be in that position.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
I don't know how WWE could have an easy pick for a main eventer who the fans actually care about, and can easily be a World Champion, yet shit all over him regardless in the booking.

However, sticking him with Lita really has taken away some of his face reactions, to the point the crowds were backing Viscera.

Edit: Also, why is it a surprise Christian didn't go over? I'm sorry, but the second the pyro went off, I knew who was winning. Way too many people think it's the most shocking booking decision, but really, Christian is solidly in a angle where he is fed up with Raw and moves to Smackdown.

whitemilesdavis - May 3, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
I don't think it's so much shocking that he lost, people were just expecting him to be pushed. Just like you, when the pyro went off they knew the push wasn't happening.

jamiegeist - May 3, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
Yeah, once I heard the pyro, I wasn't "expecting" Christian to win. I was thinking "wow, this could really establish him if he gets the pin on Kane". I figured it wasn't happening, but they still had me clinging to moments in the match, like where he almost turned him over for the Unprettier.

And I like Kane overall. I just wanted Christian to get an important win.

Scrooge McSuck - May 3, 2005 09:16 PM (GMT)
Thats something I would question... how the hell do you put the unprettier on Kane? Unless he's already knocked out, I don't see someone Christians size using that move on someone Kane's size, which makes me think Christian needs a second finishing move.

Lita is getting heel reaction now, may be this is where they should turn her heel. And when she hit Trish at Blacklash with the crutch, she got booed. They should just make her heel already.

This is what I'm saying. I'd be interesting seeing teh Unprettier on Kane though. I think it's important that Christian lost because this really gets him to go to SmackDown.

Big F'N Swigg - May 4, 2005 12:31 AM (GMT)
I think the tournament was a bit lame, seeing that Smackdown had a tournament a few weeks ago.

I also agree that Christian losing was a bad idea, and I think that Edge shouldn't have been in the tournament, but there's really no one else to take his place.
