Title: Calling Monty Brown fans....

dynamite kido - December 14, 2004 05:16 PM (GMT)
What is good about him that makes you like him? I'm not being a smartass, I want to hear what people say......

Big F'N Swigg - December 14, 2004 05:18 PM (GMT)
I think he has potential, but that's about it.

Mad Dog - December 14, 2004 05:26 PM (GMT)
For most of his latest run I've been apathetic towards him but he's really won me over since his Impact match with Jarrett.

He's just different. His promos are really off the wall but with the bland promos you get in the WWF it works. I think what makes his gimmick work is that he's truely into it. He plays the unstoppable monster really well and he's got the speed and agility that most bigger guys in wrestling lack.

The Last Free Voice - December 14, 2004 07:51 PM (GMT)
I think it's his natural charisma. His in ring work seems to be improving as well.

(And be careful here people, this could get ugly. Nelly's Bandaid anyone?)

Real F'n Show - December 14, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't consider myself a fan, as I don't like him much, and find him overrated. He does have good charisma though, I'll give him that. And I liked his match with Abyss at Turning Point.

The Last Free Voice - December 14, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
A question: how can he be over rated when pretty much everyone conceeds he's shit in the ring? I've yet to see anyone (with two brain cells to rub together, that is) say he's good in the ring. Improving, maybe, and that he has potential, but never that he's good...

Mad Dog - December 29, 2004 09:03 AM (GMT)
People stupidly think that the buzz around him must mean that he's good in the ring. Or something like that. People tend to make stupid assumptions and statements about wrestling in general.

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 04:14 PM (GMT)
I think he has a good look to him. He's got a different kind of charisma (whacked out of his mind but still coherent), and has a lame finisher that is awesome. POUNCE~!

TehDoct0r - December 29, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
The finisher is the main reason i hate him. I would hate to have to job to that. It's even worse than the People's Elbow.

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 11:23 PM (GMT)
I don't know. A Brick wall wrestler of solid muscle running into you at full speed? I think that would hurt... really bad.

TehDoct0r - December 29, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
I dunno, I don't buy it. Maybe it's the way he does it.

Scrooge McSuck - December 29, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
It's no worse than the Canadian Destroyer, winner of the most unrealistic and exposing of the business move in the history of mankind.

PedigreeMC - December 30, 2004 11:03 PM (GMT)
Monty Brown is pretty good to me. He seems to love what he does and has alot of fun out there while at the same time manages to have a really fierce aura about him. Its wierd how you get so many mixed reviews of The Pounce. Personally, I like it alot. Sometimes its better than others though depending on how his opponent sells the move. At the recent PPV, Abyss actually took a spill out of the ring after it which made it look pretty cool.

Agreed, but it looks cool. To me, the Pounce doesn't look cool or particularly painful. To each his own tho.

Monty Brown isn't anything special, but he looks like he's improving quite a bit. i find him easier to watch now, as opposed to the first time i saw him, on Impact.

i think it's something about his look.....but, that's just my opinion.

Scrooge McSuck - January 1, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
I think maybe Monty Brown started sniffing the paint on Hardys body, which causes a chain reaction with his brain to make him act crazy and like a jack rabbit on a date.

TehDoct0r - January 2, 2005 08:21 PM (GMT)
I once got too close to Jeff Hardy, and I woke up in Baton Rogue covered in Tobasco Sauce.

Mad Dog - January 2, 2005 10:28 PM (GMT)
I liked his promo on Impact a lot. I don't understand it. He's just so off the wall with what he says and the whole leaving his scent on the mic that it just works.

Too bad if he ever ended up in the WWF they'd take everything unique away from him.

TehDoct0r - January 3, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)
Sad too, cause I can see him of all people in TNA ending up in WWE.

Scrooge McSuck - January 3, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
WWE will book him like shit because he's not a WWE creation. They'll dress him up as a super hero or something.

The Last Free Voice - January 6, 2005 09:56 PM (GMT)
Let's not turn this into WWE bashing. That goes in the WWE folder.

I'm particularly impressed by his improvement. I re-watched some of his old stuff with the Truth, WAY back in the old days, and he's come a LONG way.
