Well, we're in the playoffs and so far it's the run and gun teams that are winning (with the exception of the Pistons, who actually *gasp* play defense). Any thoughts/ predictions?

Oh my god... Vince Carter fucking Allan Houston'ed that shot!
For those who don't know, in Game 5 of the 1999 1st Round between NYK and Miami, Houston threw up possibly the WORST shot ever that bounced off the rim 3 or 4 times before going in with 1 second left to win the game.
Carter with a good shot that did the exact same thing at the buzzer to send Game 3 into OT #2.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 29, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
I hate Vince Carter....so it serves the bastid right
Scrooge McSuck - April 29, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
It served him right he made the shot? OOOOOOOKAY. (hands Choate award for most incoherent insult of the week)
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 29, 2005 06:02 PM (GMT)
No, sorry. I should've clarified that I meant the Nets losing the game, not him pulling a shot out of his ass. my bad.
As such, I must refuse your award. But I will try to honestly earn it next time.
Scrooge McSuck - April 29, 2005 06:10 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah... damn Nets. I was marking the fuck out for that shot, but they were missing some easy shots in all 3 OT periods, so they deserved the loss.

Detroit is kicking ass like I expected them to.
Scrooge McSuck - April 29, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I hope we get a Indiana/Detroit round... that is going to be awesome.

Yep. I would say that it's either them or Miami who's going to take it all.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 29, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
I still think it's going to be a team from the West...Spurs look slow, but either they or the Suns are probably going to be too much to handle
whitemilesdavis - April 29, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
Alonzo Mourning seriously gained my respect last night with that offensive rebound - hustle for the ball - call time-out play. I think the finals will be Heat vs. Spurs, with Miami winning big.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 29, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
I call Detroit vs. Suns, with the Suns takin' it
Scrooge McSuck - April 29, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
I call Miami and Phoenix, with the Suns coming out on top.

Detroit taking out Seattle in 6.

Interesting pick. That'd be my top choice for a finals, but I'm not so sure it'll happen.
Mad Dog - April 29, 2005 07:15 PM (GMT)
I don't see Miami having the depth to beat Detroit in a Best of 7. I think the Suns are going down and that the Spurs are going to fall to a younger team. I think Seattle finds their way into the Finals.
Scrooge McSuck - April 29, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
It appears everyone has a somewhat different finals pick. No two people have picked the same 2 teams, but in an occasion or two, picked the same winner. Interesting...

I hate the media. Detroit still gets virtually ignored like they always do. They dominated Philly so far and most of the focus is still on A.I.
TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 29, 2005 10:19 PM (GMT)
The media doesn't like teams without superstars, especially ones who are under six feet and have cool nicknames like A.I. The important thing is that Detroit is trucking over Philly with ease.
