let's KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Don't forget the 20 minutes of mic time for Triple H.

And they need about 5 insta matches for the PPV.

I can actually see them doing a 6 or 7 mat6ch PPV this time around. Otherwise they'll be announcing all kinds of bullshit just based off tonight. So with my luck they'll probably do 13 matches for the PPV.

...huh? Did I miss something. Oh wait...partially remembered.

Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
I'm definitely taping because it's in the UK and I'm a sucker for shows of WWF/E in England.

Wow, I thought a match like that could only happen in video games

whitemilesdavis - April 25, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
What, a hoss squashing a glorified cruiser? Happens every week in WWE land.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 25, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
ah, WWE land

it's like magic

dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
If by magic you mean "being punched in the groin".....

TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 25, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
more or less

Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
Am I alone in thinking Christian can become a legit world title contender? He has the mic skills, got MSG to back him up, and isn't too bad of a wrestler (the perfect example of working "WWE Style."). Also Tomko as his "Problem Solver" hasn't been as bad as I expected it to be.

whitemilesdavis - April 25, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
I hate Christian in the ring, but he is one of the more entertaining guys on the mic. Honestly if Cena is world title material, who knows?

prof_plague - April 25, 2005 07:39 PM (GMT)
This is true. But do you think there's enough hype around him to make him a world title holder?

TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 25, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
i can't explain why, but i think Christian is a douche, so count me out on that one

dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 07:42 PM (GMT)
I think people are a little hard on Christian's in ring work, but he does have the tools to be main event.......I just don't think it'll ever happen.

Just like Val Venis?

:P

whitemilesdavis - April 25, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
I would say Venis is a far better worker than Christian.

dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
I would also say that it was no go from day one with Venis. First off, he was saddled in a porn star gimmick that screams "I'm not World title material". Also, Christian would be percieved as a better main event prospect than Venis simply by the fact that Christian's held titles that actually meant something to the fans (By this I mean his memorable run with Edge as his tag partner....not his godawful singles runs) and it would just equal more money than Venis.

prof_plague - April 25, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
I mean in-ring work. Venis is good, but doesn't have a gimmick that could get him a big title shot.

Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 11:34 PM (GMT)
Venis got a watchable match out of Viscera on heat last week, had a good match with Ric Flair a few months back, and had a good 10 minute match with Chad Collyer (the real one, not CM Punk)

Ummm......the match with Visc wasn't watchable. The Flair match was alright and a match that's 10 minutes on WWE TV is surprising......but far from good.

Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
Different strokes for different folks. Remember, I think Kane has good matches on a more consistant basis than once a decade.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
Christian is definitely ready for a main event/world title feud. I mean, the peices in place right now won't allow that to happen, but if there were a major injury, hell yes. If he went to Smackdown, I think a Christian-Cena program for the strap would do great.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 01:33 AM (GMT)
Raw thoughts.

I love overseas crowds, they are so damn good. I wish WWE would do it more often, honestly.

Batista disrespecting Triple H was awesome, cause no one ever does it. I love the way he kept cutting him off, and made sure that he got the last word and not Triple H. Good stuff finally from Batista. Even though the early stuff with JR and Batista definitely needed a no homo.

Grenier needs to be fired. He sucks ass in the ring. He was so lost 2 minutes into that thing, and Jericho should've just kicked him square in the teeth and pinned him. He doesn't have a clue in there. At least put Conway in if it is gonna be live on RAW. Shelton should've made the save and then just picked Jericho up and dropped him with the T-bone.

Someone on here (I think) mentioned that Shelton should just go full heel and do a Terrell Owens like gimmick, where he is just a superior athlete, therefore has a big head, and is so full of himself people hate him, but think he is still awesome in the ring. That would be perfect, and they're kind of doing a tuned down version of it right now.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
Sorry to be a repeat poster, but Christian fucking rules. That segment with Flair was money, and this guy is starting to seriously get over.

I even have a soft spot for Tomko as well. no homo.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
At least WWE smartened up. 10 seconds with Lita, in the back, while Kane makes his exit with his music still blaring. Too bad too, I was hoping for somemore Matt chants. That Kane-Vis match should get bombarded with chants on Sunday.

Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Man, Venis had about as much heat in that match as a fly in an ice cube

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
Wow. I can't believe how loud the chants were in the Edge match. I honestly didn't think they fans would be so informed and up to date over there. If England can chant that loud, then it is gonna go nuts all over the States.

I wonder if Benoit is pissed about this. They didn't really even give a shit that Edge was using Benoit's moves. All they wanted was Matt Hardy. And the Last Man Standing match, with all those long counts, could get some LOUD chants goin.

Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2005 02:39 AM (GMT)
It was hard for me to hear the chants over JR and Lawler talking. It seems like the commentators got louder during that segment

Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
The Viscera/Trish stuff is humurous, but it's not really worth seeing more than once

Scrooge McSuck - April 26, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
RAW is back to being 2003-levels of suck.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 02:57 AM (GMT)
Man, the crowd is rabid right now during the Main Event. Loud as hell Ba-Tis-Ta chants. Sounded like some Lets Go Christian chants, and just general noise. Hearing some Boos at the christian squash so far, rightfully so.

Did I mention I love overseas crowds.

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
Wow, forget about a smattering of Boos. That crowd pretty much turned straight on Batista in that match. Christian shouldve gotten more, that was rediculous. Interference coming from all angles, and Tista still whoops his ass with no problem at the end. Good ending as far as the angle goes though, with Triple H finally hitting it on Batista.

And I think they got the crowd switched back around there when Batista started beating on Triple H and Flair. This crowd was insanely behind Christian.

Big F'N Swigg - April 26, 2005 03:09 AM (GMT)
What was the point of Batista clearing house and getting the win if HHH just pedigrees him anyhow?

jamiegeist - April 26, 2005 03:15 AM (GMT)
No shit. Why not just have him get pedigreed and Christian gets the cover. Well, I know the answer why, but you know.

And I would appreciate some kind, any kind, at least one word of explanation of WHY in the hell Triple H can totally change the referee, the timekeeper, etc, etc. That gimmick works when you have the Owner of the company (Mcmahon-Foley v Austin) in your corner, but it makes no sense in this context.

Bischoff should do something, and if he wouldn't, you'd think (storyline wise) Vince would. I hate getting into this period where every can and does make matches and changes.

Mad Dog - April 26, 2005 03:18 AM (GMT)
So was the main purpose of that to remind everyone that Christian isn't on HHH's level?
