Description: More Trips H news.....

Thanks to Pwtorch for the following:
-The WWE has given away the main event for WWE Vengeance by releasing the Pay Per View poster for that event. The poster features both Triple H and Dave Batista facing each other below it with the heading "Hell In The Cell" at the top of the poster. This clearly indicates that neither Batista or Triple H will be moving from Raw to Smackdown! and also signals another rematch between the two in June. This should be the third time that the two will meet.
-HHH was in good spirits when he learned that his MRI came back and showed that there was no serious damage done to his neck or back and he wouldn't be missing any matches. He was also happy to learn that there was no chronic degeneration in his back which could possibly cause him to shorten his career.
-HHH vs Jim Ross drew a 4.4 overrun this week on Raw, which was down from the overrun of 4.8 that Batista had drawn the week previously |
Mad Dog - April 21, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Oh great, so it's going to be rematch after rematch until he gets the belt back.
prof_plague - April 21, 2005 11:44 PM (GMT)
WHy do they keep releasing these posters so soon?
Although, this does give me more confidence that Batista will retain.
Scrooge McSuck - April 21, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
Because they fucking suck, thats why.
prof_plague - April 21, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
:sigh: I wish I could't say I'm disillussioned.
SamoaRowe - April 22, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
If I had my guess on how this will work out, Triple H is going to take the title back at Backlash and defend at Vengeance. Otherwise, it will look really pathetic if Triple H is chasing the belt for what would be four months into Batista's reign.
Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
... Yeah, taking the title off of Orton and giving it to Trips after 4 weeks worked so well, why not do it again with Batista this time?
[Sarcasm Alarm Eplodes]

I hope Batista holds onto to after Backlash.
dynamite kido - April 22, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
Actually I don't see Triple H winning the title back at Backlash. I think they are going to do something dumber and actually build a heel title chase with Trips.
whitemilesdavis - April 22, 2005 12:10 PM (GMT)
Well that's great, because noone is at all tired of HHH being at the top of the card.
How many years is this now?

Don't get me wrong, I hope he does too. I think the only thing that could ruin Backlash for me is having to see Triple H win title number 11 in person.

Yes...that would be a very sad night. :(
Scrooge McSuck - April 22, 2005 10:00 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah... you're going to Backlash. Lucky bastards, I wanna see Hogan! :(

Aww. This is actually the second time I'll be seeing Hogan, only last time was him making his "debut" as Mr. America.
Rather amusing night.
Scrooge McSuck - April 24, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
At least he'll be using "Real American". This is just me, but "Voodoo Child" doesn't sound like a good theme for a top babyface, mainly because it really doesn't seem that exciting for a live crowd. Hell, I don't think it makes a good wrestling theme period.
SamoaRowe - April 24, 2005 03:23 AM (GMT)
"Voodoo Baby" is a kick-ass song, but you are right, it's not right for Hogan. If he comes out to "Real American" I may just have to mark out a little bit.
prof_plague - April 24, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Can...can we officially stop calling him "Hollywood" Hogan? And could the WWE not call him that? Especially on the WWE web-site...and as part of the champions list.
Scrooge McSuck - April 24, 2005 03:54 AM (GMT)
WWE wrote "Hollywood" Hogan all over the place the last six months when they were unable to use the name "Hulk". Hogan has since gotten the rights to the name but WWE is too lazy to change things.
Mad Dog - April 24, 2005 01:26 PM (GMT)
So how dead will Batista's heat be if he has to feud with Triple H for another 2 months after Backlash?

Batista/Triple H should not take this long. ...Have your re-match and let someone else have a title shot. ...And not just when Triple H wins it back. I want to see a non-Triple H Heavyweight title match.
MillenniumMan831 - April 24, 2005 06:06 PM (GMT)
Then watch SmackDown. *rimshot* Funny cause it's true.

I know. I started like watching Raw again, but this spoils it. I've always like SD better for the most part.
Big F'N Swigg - April 25, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
I myself have taken quite the shine to Smackdown as of late
SamoaRowe - April 25, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
Smackdown is on a real roll right now. They are actually booking their new WWE Champion strongly and they are keeping the former champion in the mix. Also, they quickly established an entire top tier of potential challengers for Cena and set up a logical way of finding a number one contender. The booking on Smackdown has been great since WrestleMania.
Aside from the on and off cruiserweight feud.
dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 03:06 PM (GMT)
I would argue that NO show that is WWE has really been worth a damn since Mania. I think that SD has been just as bad as Raw has been and they have been pulling the same one good match a week shit like Raw does too. I honestly could careless about the main event scene on SD as now it's going to be filled with ho hum in-ring performer known as John Cena. Besides Angle/Eddie, I have very little faith that any of the other contenders can pull something out of Cena that has value. Big Show sure can't, Booker won't, and JBL proved that Cena's too green for him as well (evident by their lackluster Mania match). The only stuff keeping me watching SD is the Eddie/Rey fued and to see what they are going to do with Carlito, MNM, and I do enjoy watching the Cruiser's (even though they are virtually worthless as well) although they never really do much with them.
Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
The World Title scenario on SD is good? They are doing a tournament for a #1 contender for the second fucking time in 2005. Thats lazy booking if you ask me.

Exactly my point. They can't build any one contender to even pop a buyrate so they constantly pull the #1 contender shit like they are doing now. This is the same company that is apparently already planning Triple H/Batista III but JBL doesn't even get a rematch for the title he lost at Wrestlemania.....and they are having JBL carry around the other WWE title still? WTF?
Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 03:21 PM (GMT)
Short and simple: WWE's booking department is fucked in the head.
Mad Dog - April 25, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
I seem to always find a reason not to watch Smackdown. Also when I tune in it's either commercials or some side bullshit.
Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 03:29 PM (GMT)
That's God (or whoever you believe in) telling you "This show is shit, don't watch it."
dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
Me too MD, except DVR is my friend. So I usually go that route.....

It's a "series", not a tournament. The six contenders were facing each other to qualify for a triple threat number one contender's match, which turned out to be a four way since Kurt Angle and JBL thought they would pull a fast one by getting both Big Show and Booker T disqualified during their match.
Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
No offense, but... same fucking shit. It's still a mini tournament to determine a #1 Contender.
whitemilesdavis - April 25, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
You know, I'm cool with the #1 contender stuff, because it centers the stories around titles and matches. I just wish they were more consistent with it.
prof_plague - April 25, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
I don't mind this tourney/series stuff. It actually shows the number one contender for the title (minus the DQ stuff lately).
dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
Actually it doesn't. Technically it should be JBL but I guess since those initials aren't all H he isn't the #1 contender.
Scrooge McSuck - April 25, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
I don't mind it either, but this is two PPV's in a row they've done the same thing. JBL deserved a rematch dammit, and shouldn't have to be in a tournament. :(
God damn... I never thought I'd see the day when I'd hope Justin Hawk Bradshaw would be World Champion, especially for a second time.

Granted, the former champ should deserve a rematch, but there's a lot of talent on SD that could be pushed, even more so, and a shot at the title.

 How true.
SamoaRowe - April 25, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
Okay, what is more interesting.
Former champion loses championship and automatically gets rematch at the next pay-per-view while the rest of the roster gets to float around in limbo...
or
Former champion competes with other potential challengers, thus giving others at least a kayfabe shot at the gold. They have a storyline reason why JBL isn't getting an automatic rematch (because he was so confident in success that he didn't sign a rematch claus) and now he's ::shudder:: being forced to earn another shot. Chances are JBL is going to win the series anyway, so the rematch is going to mean a lot more because he had to go through five other superstars rather than the Triple H method of "I get as many title shots as I damn well want because I'm the Game, bla bla bla."
