Title: The Pope
Description: Not Political or Religious Topic

Did anyone else find it silly that after having a Pope that was basically senile for the last 5 years of his term that they'd turn around and elect a 78 year old Pope?

Big F'N Swigg - April 21, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
I found it quite odd. But some are saying he's a transitional pope. Seriously.

And from what I've read about him, I like him

Mad Dog - April 21, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
I didn't know Pope's were ever considered transitional.

Big F'N Swigg - April 21, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
I heard it on the radio yesterday and couldn't stop laughing. I thought it was mostly wrestling lingo.

But it makes sense. JPII was Pope for twenty some odd years. It would be odd to have another long term pope right after that. It would be difficult to accept, as would the possible changes in doctrine that would come about as a result of electing a younger Pope

Even The Pope election is turning into a wrestling angle. "Transitional Pope"? I didn't even know such a thing existed in the real world. What's he doing, keeping the seat warm until they find someone better than him?

He's keeping the seat warm until he dies. The Pope isn't predetermined. Anymore

Just as long as Triple H doesn't start telling people he isn't fit to be Pope and should have his plug pulled.

Mad Dog - April 21, 2005 02:05 AM (GMT)
Triple H is going to give 20 minute promos everyday and talk about how the Pope is afraid of the Pedigree.

Big F'N Swigg - April 21, 2005 02:05 AM (GMT)
I bet HHH has a Pope Hat with his name on it already.

But will it ever top the standard set by HHH vs Jim Ross?

Wrestlemania XXIII: HHH vs. Jesus.

Which makes HHH the Anti-Christ

No, the Pope's finisher is when he distracts the ref and a bunch of molested alter boys hit Triple H with a chair.

prof_plague - April 21, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
Well, this topic just got so wrong so quickly.

TheGreatWhiteChoate - April 21, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
