Title: ROH Reborn Stage One
Description: My Thoughts...

The Last Free Voice - December 13, 2004 10:32 PM (GMT)
I have a job now, so I'm able to buy some ROH DVD's, and Gabe said start with RC1, so I did. And now, my thoughts. I can do a full reveiw if you all care to see it. Anyways:

Stryker vs. Nigel: Good pure style match, and a great way to start off the show. Stryker looked good here, and Nigel is still awesome. Solid match.

The Carnage Crew vs. The Ring Crew Express: Fun little match that wasn't a total squash. Everyone looked good, and it acomplished teh job it intended to.

John Walters vs. Justin Credible: It's Justin Credible, even Walters couldn't drag something good out of him. Not horrible, but worst match of the show, for sure.

Shelley vs. Danny Daniels vs. Evans vs. Jacobs vs. Masada vs. Rave: Fun, fun match. Better than the 6MM at AOB, for sure. Everyone looked good, and Evans once again amazes me with his high flying. Everyone got their chance to shine here, and this is the best 6MM I've seen.

BJ Whitmer vs. Colt Cabana: Good brawl, but seemed to be less important than the Steamboat angle.

Matt Sydal vs. Delirious: I liked this one alot, and I'm loving the Delirous Gimmick. Both looked good and smooth. Glad they got a spot...

Briscoes vs. Havana Pitbulls: Good match, allthough it seemed more about striking than actual wrestling, but it told the story well. I'd say ***-***1/2 ish.

Danielson vs. Punk: I liked this one alot too. I'm a big Punk fan, so this had me excited. But once again they decide to use this as a vessel for the Steamboat feud, but they still had a good match. ***3/4.

Homicide vs. Samoa Joe: Good, intense title match. And the post match angle was awesome.

All in all, great show, and I can't wait till I can get the other shows...

Nice little review there LFV........Next time do a longer one if you can.....

Honestly, I wasn't overly impressed with this show as there is nothing that REALLY stands out besides Punk/Dragon. It was a good match, but they BOTH did better against Joe this year and the 4/25 Dragon/Cide match blows this one totally out of the water. But like you said, they were there setting up the Steamboat thing so I can look past it. I can't wait till you see DBD II pt 2......awesome show!

I've got EONS to go before that. By my count I still have RS2, RRC3, GN, and... Okay, lots of shows... lol.

Dude, don't say it like it's a bad thing. There is some really enjoyable stuff on there....

I know, I just want it all NOW! lol

Stage 2 rules it even harder than the first. Dragon/Cide and Briscoes/SCS are better than anything on this show, and that's saying something with Punk/Dragon on this.

I've got a long ways to go till I get to RoH Reborn but I don't really mind because I like AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, etc.

Don't get me wrong, even though I love their new stuff..........there is plenty of can't miss stuff in their earlier history......IMO.

I actually went to this show live, and it was pretty good, but nothing probably over *** 1/2 to me. I was marking out though for Steamboat's stuff. The post-main event angle was pretty wild to say the least being there live, now I just wish they could get back to St. Paul. I think they could draw more if they tried again since WWE was doing a house show literally blocks away on the same night they were here.

They might be coming back there this upcoming year. They haven't announced all their shows yet, and I remember hearing they were happy with the draw they did WITH the WWE being in town on the same night.

Hopefully I'll get to a couple of the Dayton shows this year. Though there's no way in hell I'm going during the summer because I don't want to be stuck in a non-ACed building with a bunch of wrestling fans.

The Last Free Voice - December 14, 2004 08:01 PM (GMT)
I don't remember the Dayton show on 6/12 being too horrible, temp wise. Hope you go, and if you do, post on here so we can try to get some sorta meeting or something. Didn't someone else from TSM go to 6/12?

Real F'n Show - December 14, 2004 11:26 PM (GMT)
Choken One went. And then he wouldn't stop pimping Joe/Punk as his MOTY. He'd even do it in the WWE folder, the douche. I think that's partially what led to him getting banned.

The Last Free Voice - December 14, 2004 11:48 PM (GMT)
That match (at the time) was MOTY by FAR. It deserved, and still does to some extent, to be pimped.

Yes, but you have no idea how fuckign annoying it gets when someone starts pimping the match in a video game discussion thread. Choken deserved to be banned. He was starting to sound like Anglesault in his attitude too.

And Punk/Joe was the shit, I know.

The Last Free Voice - December 15, 2004 12:03 AM (GMT)
I agree, it's quite annoying, but I'm just saying that SOME of it was justified.

Mad Dog - December 15, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, so I just dropped $200 on RoH DVDs for that sale.

DAMN YO! Your business must be doing some kickass.....um, business.

Real F'n Show - December 16, 2004 02:08 AM (GMT)
The money's well spent. Have fun, and keep us posted on your viewing thoughts. Did you buy older shows, or newer ones Mad Dog?

Mad Dog - December 16, 2004 03:04 AM (GMT)
I did a list in one of the other RoH threads if you can find it. But it was all older stuff.

My business is doing ok, it brings in about $800 a week.
