Apparently they've renamed Joey Matthews as Joey Mercury, but that don't bother me at all. As a huge mark for the classic tag teams of yesterday, I am very excited by this pending debut. Hopefully these guys get the ball and deliver the goods. I am more excited by this debut than any of the recent WWE debuts in a long time.

The way WWE has been the last 10 months... I honestly couldn't care less. Give Kane the God Damn TITLE~!

Matthews and Nitro could be a great tag-team. I'm excited about them too. I'm afraid they'll be too small to get far in WWE though.

I'll be annoyed if they go and win the tag titles right away (in similar fashion to Carlito just showing up and becoming U.S. champ). I'd like to see MNM make a powerful debut, set their sights on the tag belts, and have a nice long chase. I know Eddie or Rey will likely betray the other one and MNM will probably win the titles before Judgment Day... but I can hope.

In a real wrestling promotion I'd agree with you. But with the incredibly short attention span of WWE writers and audience, I can't say I blame them for trying to strike while the iron's hot.

The real chore will be trying to revive the tag-division. Those belts haven't meant anything in a long, long time. If MNM can breathe new life into it, I'm all for 'em.

I want to get excited about these guys but it's hard when they'll get a push for a month and then being jobbing to the Hoss of the month for the rest of their career.

They should be fun, but since there's hardly any other teams for them to work with, their push will probably end fairly quickly.

But damn, I can't wait to see the infamous Melina splits into the ring.

Cornette, my lord and savior, as (intentionally) created a phenomonal tag team division in OVW that HOPEFULLY we can translate over to the big stage.

There is a thread on the DVD board about this, but basically Corny has created a new MX, new RNRX and new Freebirds.

MNM as the ultra-cool, slick heel act with their mama's boy manager replaced by a super hot slutty looking chick (a perfect metaphor for 21st century wrestling compared to late 20th century wrestling), Thrillseekers as the babyface counterpart who have been kinda programed to play off that vibe with one guy (Capponetti) who is a tremendous babyface seller and Heartbreakers as the crazy over "entertainment over substance" fun team.

I saw them for the first time tonight and apparently it seems as if they are already going to put the SD Tag Titles on them. They don't seem bad, but with the lack of tag teams on SD......I honestly don't if they can keep interest in them.
