Title: Matt Hardy Released...
Description: WHAT THE FUCK~!?
Scrooge McSuck - April 11, 2005 03:53 PM (GMT)
From WWE.com...
Matt Hardy and Rhyno have been released. World Wrestling Entertainment wishes them the best in their future endeavors.
They let the adulterating Edge and slimey whore Lita stay, but fire the guy with actual talent? WHAT THE FUCK!!?
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 03:57 PM (GMT)
I actually posted this in the Rhyno thread, but I guess it deserves its own thread. I'm getting excited though. Think about all the talented free agents on the market. I'd say a solid second promotion is on the horizon.

::starts a "bullshit" chant::
This is certainly rotten news, but I guess I'm not surprised. Afterall, when Triple H and Stephanie started knocking boots, it was ultimately Chyna who was screwed over (even though she also had serious attitude problems and an exagerrated view of her value to the company).
dynamite kido - April 11, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
Well, at least this will be a positive for TNA. Hopefully.
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure I'll see him on the NC indies once or twice before he goes anywhere full-time. I'm happy.

I wouldn't mind seeing either of them in Norm Conners IWC here in Pittsburgh, but that probably won't happen.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
TNA has to be drooling at the thought of America's Most Wanted vs. the Hardy Boys right now. They could probably pop a good buyrate with that match.
But this is fucking stupid. I love the fact that he got punished for what Edge and Lita did.
dynamite kido - April 11, 2005 04:10 PM (GMT)
I still don't understand why he wouldn't be put on SD and actually pushed as they need what they can get over on that show.
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)
I'm saying he asked for release.
Scrooge McSuck - April 11, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
We'll just have to wait for a more detailed report (probably from Meltzer). Matt could always go to TNA where promo skills aren't important. However, I don't really want to see thje Hardys reunite unless as heels.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
Hardy isn't really a bad promo though. V1.0 proved that.

Odd that you would say that. I thought Matt showed a lot of promise on the mic. And I'd love to see the Hardys back together, heel or face. That would probably be the biggest thing to happen in TNA history, and likely save Jeff's miserable career.
Scrooge McSuck - April 11, 2005 04:17 PM (GMT)
V1 promos were entertaining, but I would never confuse them with someine like a main eventer. (No, I won't say Triple H, who just rambles for 10-20 minutes about the same tired shit)
Jeff Hardy however, must never touch a microphone... EVER.
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
True....on both accounts.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
You know while this does suck I have to laugh a lot about it. I so wish I could find his tirade on the IWC last year and mail it to him.

 Somebody call Mad Dogs momma.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 04:38 PM (GMT)
No, I just found it amusing that he was trying to defend the WWF when everyone else knows they use and abuse people like this.
But I saw this coming as well. I knew he'd get punished for what Edge and Lita did. I knew his job was done with once it was reported that they had been cheating.

Obviously I was joking. But still I see your point.
It's not like they know what the hell to do with Matt anyway......I just think there should be about 30 others fired before him. But that's how the WWE tends to roll.....
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
So one guy gets fired for breaking a vase and another guy gets fired for his girlfriend cheating on him.
Yet Bradshaw causes a PR nightmare by goose stepping in Germany and gets a 10 month title reign as his punishment.
Fuck this company.
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
WWE doesn't view what Bradshaw did as a PR nightmare. They saw it as a maintream publicity opportunity.
And we still don't know that Matt didn't ask for his release.
jamiegeist - April 11, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
Fuckin weak.
Just weak.
But yeah, free agent pool is picking up considerably out there. I wonder if Rhyno can work Douglas' ECW show now or not.

I agree with the previous poster, I think it's pretty obvious WWE didn't view it as any type of PR nightmare, only the Internet community getting their panties in a wad. Which is what it was.
Regarding Matt, I am not one of these "Fuck this company I'm never watching again" types but I REALLY don't understand why you release a sure-fire future top guy. Matt has the look, the ability, the following, the body, the mind, everything. Really bizarre call if Matt didn't ask for the release.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
Actually Bradshaw lost several jobs with news organizations over the whole thing so it wasn't just the IWC upset by it.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 06:24 PM (GMT)
Get ready to not be very happy guys. From PWI:

| The early word I am getting on Matt Hardy's release is that the major reason he was let go is due to how he handled the situation with Lita and Edge, which of course he went very public with on his website. |

So he was basically fired for petty bullshit. Good job WWE.
Scrooge McSuck - April 11, 2005 06:32 PM (GMT)
...Fucking weak. That's all I've got to say. Matt Hardy has a personal life of his own, and his relationship with Lita is obviously no secret, so he should keep it under wraps what happens?
Fuck McMahon, Fuck Johnny "Dynamic Dud" Ace, fuck Jim Ross, and fuck whoever else was probably the one who pulled the trigger.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 06:34 PM (GMT)
I like how they were more interested in protecting the offending party. But this is just like the plane ride from hell when they picked and choosed who they punished.

How he handled the situation? As opposed to how Lita handled the situation?(dropping the panties) Or Edge? (banging his buddies girlfriend)
Yeah....that makes complete sense.
dynamite kido - April 11, 2005 06:35 PM (GMT)
After reading the Observer this week and Meltz talked about the rude reaction Lita got at the HOF ceremony......I figured it would be only a matter of time. I'm sure they were worried about the reactions Lita would be getting as more and more people found out what happened. So if they are going to start firing people based on personal stuff....how long before there is a total rehaul of the entire roster?
whitemilesdavis - April 11, 2005 06:37 PM (GMT)
You know, it is probably illegal to fire someone on these grounds.
Scrooge McSuck - April 11, 2005 06:38 PM (GMT)
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah but WWF will just say they had nothing for him to do or accuse him of creating the feared unsafe work place.
Maybe he should've just started abusing Lita and then he'd still have a job.

Isn't that the way half of the people there got their jobs in the first place?
Oh wait, sorry that was the whole OMEGA roster.
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
I hear the WWF has a 5 arrest limit on beating the shit out of wives/girlfriends. So Austin still has 3 to go until he won't be used anymore.
prof_plague - April 11, 2005 07:05 PM (GMT)
Bah! What the f....?! Now...they never really used Rhyno, as much as I liked him, but Hardy?!
D.A.V.E. - April 11, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
I blame Johnny Ace, since he's had it in for Matt since Day ONE. But, on the other hand, I can see why the WWE would be pissed about Matt's tantrum, because otherwise they really could have kept this whole mess internal, and bumped Matt back to SD on the qt.
dynamite kido - April 11, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
Still though it's not like he came on TV and said anything about it. Everyone who knows about it is either an internet fan or they read the sheets.
D.A.V.E. - April 11, 2005 11:00 PM (GMT)
But those who do, are giving Lita and Edge grief at shows, and apparantly thats a big issue
dynamite kido - April 11, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
So by firing Matt (aka someone who hasn't been on TV in sometime) the fans will stop?
