Title: Rhyno's gots to have heat
dynamite kido - April 8, 2005 03:36 PM (GMT)
| QUOTE |
There is what is described to me as major heat on Rhyno right now after an incident at the Universal Sheraton (where WWE booked most of the wrestlers during Wrestlemania 21 week) after Rhyno destroyed a large ceramic flowerpot in the foyer of the hotel during an argument with his wife shortly after the Wrestlemania 21 post-party began in front of a number of witnesses.
Rhyno was escorted to his hotel room by WWE management and did not return to the party. The company is furious about the situation as he was booked in the hotel by them, and was therefore representing the company. They are also upset that the incident happened before a number of witnesses including fans who were hanging out in the hotel lobby. Rhyno wasn't used on the Raw taping the following day.

I've heard rumors today that he has been released, but as of now, they appear to be just rumors.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 03:42 PM (GMT)
Eh... it's only Rhyno, but if he's released, I think that would be too extreme. They can't punish him by forcing him into Heat suty, since that's where he is every week.
dynamite kido - April 8, 2005 03:44 PM (GMT)
They'll probably get rid of him after the ECW show if anything at all.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 03:53 PM (GMT)
TNA fans got to be foaming at the mouth. I really can't think of anyone (that TNA would have the ability to get) that would appear to be such a good fit for TNA.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 03:58 PM (GMT)
I agree. Monty Brown vs. Rhino.

Yeah, but then the lights could go out and he Monty would have to face Masked Mideon again.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
Not to totally get off the subject, but he would be perfect for TNA. He can get over with a crowd, regardless of shaky booking. He's a decent wrestler, and young enough to be around a while ( unlike most of their roster)
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but if he's booked as a heel, you just know Jarrett will turn him face for no reason, and Rhyno is only good as a heel. His face run(s) in WWE have been unspectacular.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
He could actually get over huge as a face for a while. He did in ECW. Beat Jarrett then turn heel.
SamoaRowe - April 8, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
I'd say make Rhyno the NWA Champion and then have him only agree to defend the title once a month! The fans will hate him, it will be great! :P
Oh, Jarrett already does that. Nevermind.

That's still more times than Jeff Jarrett defends the title in 2 months.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
Sounds like they were looking for any reason to boot Rhyno.

Yeah, it's not exactly like they took full advantage of the time they had with him. I have still seen no legit report on his release though, so that may turn out false.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:34 PM (GMT)
The only report I saw is from the idiot who used to post news from his article which was all stolen from Meltzer, and Meltzer hasn't said anything about Rhyno being released... yet.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
Is that idiot named Steve?
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:38 PM (GMT)
I don't remember... but it's someone I trust as far as I could throw them, especially when the average weight of wrestling fans is 261.5 pounds.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:40 PM (GMT)
Glenn something. He's on his 6th or 7th name over there. He's one of the worst posters I've ever run across with his shitty news posts.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
Oh, no I got it somewhere else.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:45 PM (GMT)
He really doesn't fool anyone... at least I got Kotz thinking I'm someone else. :P
AndI think the person used to post in the WWE Folder as Wrestling365 or something lame like that.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
Malibu is the only one that even bothers to ban Glenn anymore.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
Malibu is a Saved by the Bell (super) fan... it's all good. :)
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
I'm waiting for the final blowup between Coffey and RRR on the WWF forum other there. That's going to be quality entertainment.
dynamite kido - April 8, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
yeah, Rudo is one of the few posters there that I actually like.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:54 PM (GMT)
I like Coffey but he's growing more insane by the day.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:54 PM (GMT)
Nothing better than hearing a MMA Mark arguing with a Always-Negative Dick.
dynamite kido - April 8, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
Actually Scrooge.......RRR knows his shit IMO.
But anyway......to get back on topic.....Rhyno is in the doghouse.....
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Yeah, RRR is probably the best poster in the WWF folder at TSM right now.
whitemilesdavis - April 8, 2005 04:57 PM (GMT)
Meltzer is saying he has not been fired, but was sent home for a few days.
Scrooge McSuck - April 8, 2005 04:57 PM (GMT)
I know... but he's a Super-MMA Mark. I didn't call him stupid, did I? :P

So they'll just fire him at a later date.

According toPWInsider.com, World Wrestling Entertainment informed Rhyno earlier today that he was being released by the company, stemming from the post-Wrestlemania 21 incident at the Universal Sheraton in California. As reported here at InsidePulse, Rhyno broke a large flowerpot vase in the foyer of the hotel during an argument with his wife. WWE management escorted Rhyno back to his hotel room and he flew home for Los Angeles the following Monday, as opposed to staying for the Raw show.
There's no word yet if Rhyno's release will change his status for the ECW One Night Stand PPV. The WWE will utilize outside talent for the show on June 12th in New York City.
prof_plague - April 9, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
I know this sounds really stupid, but all I can picture is all of the WWE stars and management having a huge celebration in suits in the lobby of the hotel, and Rhyno standing there in his ring attire picking-up and breaking a flowered ceramic pot.
It's just funny as an image in my head.

This is bullshit!!! ... This is bullshit! ...
It feels like people have done worse in the company before and have been able to stick around. Rhyno smashes a vase at a Sheraton and they fire him?
Well, I suppose most things happen backstage and this happened in public with fans around. And because he isn't as big of a name as compared to the other names who have gotten in far worse trouble before.
He should have at least be around for the ECW PPV, even though it's very unlikely. You know, was only the last ECW Champion.
Scrooge McSuck - April 9, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
ECW was shit since 1999. Thats like Booker T celebrating being the last WCW Champion, or whoever the fuck held the AWA Championship.
Mad Dog - April 9, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
You're being really generous with ECW. They had sucked since about 1996 or so. After Benoit and co. headed to WCW it was over for ECW as a workrate fed.

Random tidbit:
The last AWA Champ was Larry Zbyszko.

wwe.com is now reporting the release of Rhyno and Matt Hardy. Hey, more good talent on the indies!
Mad Dog - April 11, 2005 04:32 PM (GMT)
Now all they need to do is release Charlie Haas, Shelton and a few cruisers and TNA is all set.
