Title: Batista
Description: Sells Too Much
Mad Dog - April 5, 2005 12:16 PM (GMT)
That's the biggest thing I've noticed about him during the last two days. He's a monster and they made him sell way too much for HHH and Orton. Orton should've been a dead man when he stepped through those ropes last night and HHH should've had nowhere near the amount of offense he had at Mania.
Goldberg vs. DDP at Halloween Havoc 98 felt epic because it was really the first time Goldberg had sold for someone. It made the match feel different.

I agree, I couldn't understand why they were letting Orton pick up so much offense last night against Batista, especially when he needs to take time off for surgery anyhow.
On the other hand, at least Batista is not like the Undertaker, who won't sell for anyone. I guess I'd just like to see Batista find a healthy medium.

Personally the fact that he sells makes me like him better. But I do agree with the fact that he shouldn't do it so much because of the way that he's booked.

He even oversold for FLAIR. I'll just go ahead and blame HHH, as this is probably a way to keep Batista from getting too over. ;-)

Always good to cut the middleman out.

So - you might as well start with the Heavyweight champion.

Batista is going to fail. I see it more than ever now. He should be acting more violent on the microphone, threatening to rip off Triple H's arms and beat him with them.
And Triple H should be acting like Batista is the scariest thing he has ever laid eyes on. None of this 'give me a rematch!' crap, he should be trying to find a way to get the belt back on him without having to face the Animal.

The storyline just feels too basic right now. If they did that, it at least adds something to it.

They should've saved the bounty angle for this.

Ooo...That does sound good.
Like a "$100,000 to any wrestler who can taken down the Animal."
It might make Batista sound more threatening.
Mad Dog - April 7, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
I'd just have him hint that he can't beat Batista one on one and will pay $100,000 to anyone that hurts him or interferes in the match to help him regain the title.
Then Batista spends the months fighting off Christian, Tomko and maybe some invading Smackdown heels looking for some quick cash.

I'm a suck for those cheesy one-night cross-overs.

That's weird.....me and a buddy of mine were saying the same thing after RAW this past week.

Batista has never been booked as a full-on monster. He just lost to Maven a couple of months ago.
Mad Dog - April 8, 2005 08:47 PM (GMT)
And I think that's a huge problem I think. They should go all out on selling him as a monster. Stretcher jobs, TKO endings, no one should be able to walk to the back after a match with him. Basically look at Sid's rampage before Wrestlemania VIII and do that minus the outside of the ring crap.
