Title: What If?
Description: Triple H retains at Mania

This thought has started popping into my head the more Batista gained the advantage during the leadup to Mania. This situation is just rip for Triple H to show up at Mania and decide he wants to retain or that he's just going to horribly expose Batista's weaknesses during the match.
I believe that Triple H winning will be on par with the finger poke of doom in WCW. They've so pissed off the fans with the last 4 years that I think Triple H beating Batista would be the final breaking point that makes a lot tune out.
What are your opinions of the fallout if Triple H were to retain.

Well, then they basically are back to square one again on RAW. Remember after Triple H squashed the entire roster only to leave himself with nobody to feud with except HBK? Basically rendering the title even more worthless than it is right now.
This will piss me off to all new level's for sure.

I agree that it would ruin it for too many people. A strong face champion would be quite the change IF H doesn't try to take back his belt too soon. It could help re-spark some interest. Which is why I think HHH is retaining.

If Triple H retains, I give up RAW.
If Kane wins the ladder match, I also give up RAW, because he'll just be made to look like shit again, especially if it's vs. Triple H.

If I had the book I'd have Batista go over Triple H in about 8 minutes at Mania. Triple H would only get offense after face rakes and stuff.
The next night on Raw Triple H would start the show with his usual promo only Batista would come out and absolutely Triple H about 3 minutes into. Triple H would then disappear until July then come back to challenge Batista at Summerslam. Batista would of course win at Summerslam.

Reality booking: Triple H Dominates a 25 minute match, giving Batista small bursts of offense now and then, then does a job after 7 people interfere.
Triple H wins the title for 11th time at backlash.

Like I've said all along, Triple H is going to ruin Batista. He's either going to beat him or make him work a 30 minute match to expose him.

If Triple H goes over Batista tomorrow night, this will mark Triple's current reign as the "Title Reign from Hell Part 2" which would be the sequel to HHH's run from December 2002 until September 2003.
I don't think Triple H is out to discredit Batista since he spent the past 2-3 years using Batista has his pet project to prove he's out to put over younger talent. Even though Triple H seemed to have little trouble putting Randy Orton in his place, Batista is far more over as a face than Orton ever was.
I think this is one time when Triple H will really do the right thing and will let a new star be born. The only way I could justify Triple H going over is if the World title match isn't the final match and JBL/Cena is (which is incredibly unlikely).

I think we're pretty much screwed in either direction. I hoping there'll be a big surprise to prove me wrong. I think I'd like to see Batista win in some ways because it gives new talent a shot on Raw...even though there'll be re-match where Triple H will win. In some ways I'd rather see Triple H win because he hasn't had the title all the long on his 10th run...not like it means anything.
Since the title is basically Triple H's toy and he'll get it back soon enough, I'd rather see him without the title for at least a short bit. Giving someone else the title might give a chance for new fans, and old ones, to stay interested in the company.
