Title: Should Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame?
Description: Now that I think about it...

Forgive the sub-header. I was thinking maybe doing a Da Baseball HoF, then realized it would be impossible. Anyway...

I was going over Pete Rose's career stats... a record 4,256 regular season record for hits, .303 career batting average, over 2,000 runs scored, and over 1,300 RBI's.

Also 17 All-Star Game selections, 1963 Rookie of the Year, 1973 NL MVP and World Series MVP in 1975, lead the league in batting average in 1968, 1989, and 1973... hell, I could go on and on aobut his accomplishments.

His comparisons to the average HoF projected scores are through the roof...

Black Ink: Batting - 64 (14) (Average HOFer ~ 27)
Gray Ink: Batting - 239 (24) (Average HOFer ~ 144)
HOF Standards: Batting - 54.9 (47) (Average HOFer ~ 50)
HOF Monitor: Batting - 313.0 (11) (Likely HOFer > 100)

Despite all of these accomplishments, Rose has been kept out of the Hall of Fame for 1 reason (or maybe a few others)... gambling on the very sport that he excelled at. I'm sure by now, over 17 years since he last suited up for a baseball game, he learned his lesson and had to live with his lies and sins, and think he should be allowed in.

If they can include racist fucks like Ty Cobbs (the holder of most hits before Pete Rose broke the record) into the hall of fame who intentionally spiked people, why not a gambling fuck? I think I'd rather be represented by a gambler than a racist.

Ummm......yes. The guy is the all time leader in hits for Christ's sake. There are enough drunks and racists in the Baseball HOF to forgive Pete for his gambling. This is also coming from someone who thinks Rose is a total piece of shit too.

If it weren't for Bud Selig, the man would be considered on par with your Willie Mays as the best player to ever play. Fuck gambling. Let him in.

I just realized... I'm a hypocrite. I'm saying Pete Rose should be in the real baseball HoF despite his personal issues, but was against Bruiser Brody in ours because of his.

Oh well, he still lost out by a large margin if I did vote "yes."

Yes, if guys like Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth are in then Pete Rose should be in. I say let Shoeless Joe Jackson in as well since they seem to have forgiven certain members of the Black Sox.
