Title: Matches That Piss You Off
Mad Dog - March 31, 2005 06:03 PM (GMT)
This is for those special matches that have you almost to the point where you want to throw the remote through the tv.
HHH/Booker T WMXIX - just for the fact that Booker had to lay there for a minute and then get pinned.
HHH/Undertaker KOTR 02 - This is quite possibly the shittiest match I've ever seen.
Actually most of 02 had me wanting to throw the remote through the tv.
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
Austin/Undertaker (Backlash 2002) - 25:00 of boring garbage "wrestling" that I had to sit through so I could see Hogan.
Jeff Jarrett/Raven (TNA 4/30/03) - Don't even get me started.
HHH/Booker T (WM XIX) - Already mentioned.
Yokozuna/Undertaker (RR 94) - Even as a mark... what the fuck was that?!
TehDoct0r - March 31, 2005 06:25 PM (GMT)
Two Hogan Starrcade matches....
94 vs Beefcake, 97 vs Sting
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2005 06:28 PM (GMT)
1994 I had zero expectations for so it gets a free pass.
1997 was possible THE Biggest match of all time, or at least for WCW, and they somehow screwed it up. (Says that like it was a surprise)
Mad Dog - March 31, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
I don't really remember anything Beefcake did between when he unmasked at Halloween Havok 94 and becoming the Zodiac in 95.
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
He was the lacky of Kevin Sullivan, then turned face after heel miscommunication. He became the Man with no Face/Man with no Name, then suddenly turned inot the Zodiac.
Not much of a year, says I.
SamoaRowe - March 31, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
Chris Jericho winning the WWF Championship from Steve Austin because of a Booker T run-in.
It would have been one thing if Jericho had cheated himself to win the belt, but the way Booker ran in suggested that Jericho wasn't even a competent enough cheater to get the job done.

It only took 40 men for Yokozuna to retain the title.
But that really was only way to beat Undertaker back then. As part of the Undertaker character, it takes a lot more for him to sell.

That reminds me more of a moment that pissed me off than a specific match. During the Invasion angle, all the Alliance guys are in the ring and Stone Cold charges in and gives them all stunners and single handedly puts himself over the entire WCW lockerroom and the ECW guys.
I also was annoyed by how Kurt Angle had such an easy time dominating the Alliance after he had been a chicken-shit heel up until that point.
And I hated it when Regal turned heel by turning on Angle and joining the Alliance.
Which lead to Angle turning heel too and also joining the Alliance a couple of weeks later.

I really don't understand how they messed-up such a perfect angle. That could have been History right there, something that would've gone down as one of the best ideas in recent years, and a good example for future years. Well, I suppose it's a good of example now of what not to do. That invasion angle could have been just as good, if not better, than the original nWo invasion in '96.
Scrooge McSuck - March 31, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
It was "fucked up" to make WCW/ECW look inferior to WWF, and there was never any intention of making it a success, otherwise they would've brought in Hogan, Nash, Hall, Dustin Rhodes, Flair, Steiner, Hennig, etc. etc. during the angle, not after.

True. I know you want the other products to look inferior, but think of all the stuff you could've done. They still could have made them look inferior and not entirely wreck it.

I'll also add in HHH/HBK/Benoit from the last Mania. They managed to chip away at the joy from seeing him finally win the big one by making him an afterthought in the buildup and injecting HBK into the match.

Yes! Thank you! That annoyed me so much. Granted, it was still a good match and all, but like I said in the WM Main Event Thread, I like to see some WWE Traditions stay, i.e. the Royal Rumble main events WrestleMania against the Champion.

I'd argue that it made it better, for me at least. The whole time I was getting pissed that he was gonna get screwed, or in the BEST case pin HBK to win the title, and I was angered. But then they actually DO THE RIGHT THING and have him make HHH tap clean in the middle of the ring, and give him confetti and Eddie. Regardless of what happened after Mania, I thought that night was perfect.

Undertaker vs. Ric Flair, Wrestlemania X8.
Mad Dog - April 4, 2005 03:44 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure when it happened but it was I think Rock/Undertaker vs. E&C in early 2001. I just remember the ending really pissed me off. Angle was the special guest ref and he just Angle Slammed I think Rock, threw Edge on top and counted the three. I think it was perhaps one of the worst finishes I've ever seen.

Just about any match where the crowd chants "boring" pisses me off. It's not the wrestlers annoying me, but the fans.
There are a few exceptions to this rule ::glares at Lesnar/Goldberg::

May be that's a match to add to the list.

Maybe, but that match amuses me more than it pisses me off.
I think I was pissed at Hardcore Holly vs Lesnar at Royal Rumbe 2004. I wasn't expecting a classic or anything, I just wanted to see those two stiff each other. It also featured Lesnar dominating Holly after spending the past three months acting as if he was terrorfied of him.

Hogan vs Yoko, Wrestlemania 9. You know why. ;-)

Because you wanted to see Hogan/Yoko go to a Broadway?
SamoaRowe - April 6, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
The Cruiserweight Open from WrestleMania XX pisses me off. I don't know if it was the way Ultimo Dragon kept tripping over his cape, or how Funaki was eliminated after three seconds, or Nunzio being counted out, or Akio not even entering the match, or the way that when it finally came down to Chavo vs Rey, it was rushed to a quick finish... but it was the most infuriating, frustrating match on that entire show.
