Title: Mad Dog's Boxing
Description: Title Bout Championship Boxing

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
So I bout this for $25 today and it's quite interesting. Basically you can pit any fighter from history against each other. So I figured it'd make a fun game. I'll have some title tournaments later. I just have to fix the title situation.

So welcome to TBCB Boxing.

D.A.V.E. - March 28, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)

I'm going to sim for a bit and get starting champions and decent top 10s where the top guys have about 5 fights under their belt then I'll start posting results.

whitemilesdavis - March 28, 2005 02:11 AM (GMT)
QUOTE
Joe Louis d. Cassius Clay by TKO 2:47 into the 1st Round after ref stoppage

See, that right there would make me question the validity of this game. Ali was never stopped in his career, and only knocked down once by Frasier. That was just a flash knockdown. He could obviously take a punch which led to his rope-a-dope technique later in his career. While someone could have possibly outscored him, I definitely don't see him being stopped in the first round.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
We'll see how it plays out over time. There are several versions of each fighter kicking around so that effects how they perform. The top Ali is 2-1-1 right now and I doubt he'll get KOed.

EDIT: Clay is rated a 13 overall and is considered before Ali's prime the way they game has him ranked. The regular Ali is rated a 15 which no other fighter is rated as in the game. Joe Louis is rated a 14 so the fight could go either way.

Big F'N Swigg - March 28, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
I wonder if Foreman will complain about losing to Ali again.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 07:08 AM (GMT)
Thanks to a game feature I can just randomly have the heavyweights fight each other however many times I want. So here's your initial TBCB Heavyweight Top 10:

Champ: Jack Johnson 6-0-0 (2)
1. Jack Dempsey 5-1-1 (3)
2. Chris Byrd 7-1-0 (1)
3. Muhammad Ali 5-1-1 (3)
4. David Tua 9-2-0 (8)
5. Joe Louis 3-1-0 (2)
6. Joe Frazier 5-1-0 (4)
7. Rocky Marciano 6-1-0 (5)
8. Cassius Clay 3-1-0 (2)
9. Luan Krasniqi 5-0-0 (2)
10. Andrew Golota 3-0-1 (2)

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 07:30 AM (GMT)
Opening Bout:
Jim Barry 1-1-0 d. Alex Miteff 1-1-0 by unanimous decision, Mills Lane scores 114-112

Prelim 1:
Tommy Martin 4-3-0 d. Taurus Sykes 0-9-0 by unanimous decision, Mills Lane scores 116-112

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
So I decided the way this will work is that every day will be a month of the year. So each month will have a PPV that I'll post here. I'm going to focus mostly on the Heavyweights unless you guys want to see the smaller guys in action. The Heavyweight Champion will defend his title 3 times a year. I'll also be running non-posted shows for the up and comers as well.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
Opening Bout:
Ray Leonard 6-0-0 d. Marcel Cerdan 3-1-0 by TKO 2:10 into the 1st Round

Prelim 1:
Paolino Uzcudan 1-0-0 d. Randall Cobb 0-1-0 by unanimous decision, Mills Lane scores 117-111

Prelim 2:
Evander Holyfield 4-2-0 d. Jorge Luis Gonzalez 0-2-0 by KO 2:40 into the 3rd Round

Support Bout:
Riddick Bowe 4-1-0 d. Joe Cox 0-1-0 by KO 1:34 into the 9th Round

Co-Feature:
Muhammad Ali 6-1-1 d. Otto Von Porat 3-1-0 by TKO 2:57 into the 2nd Round

Main Event:
Jersey Joe Walcott 4-2-0 d. Mike Weaver 3-1-0 by TKO 2:46 into the 8th Round

Thoughts:

Evander Holyfield and Jersey Joe Walcott get back on track with wins this month. Holyfield had a slow start as he lost to Mike Tyson in the first round of the TBCB Heavyweight Tournament and then got upset by David Tua. Muhammad Ali continues tearing through the division after his 1-1-1 start and he's looking to jump Chris Byrd in the rankings so he can get a shot at the winner of Jack Johnson/Jack Dempsey.

Next month is sees Jack Johnson defending the TBCB World Heavyweight Title against the No. 1 contender Jack Dempsey.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
Also I'm going to treat you guys as a sort of championship committee. So name matches you want to see and I'll throw them onto PPVs for you.

Mad Dog - March 28, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
DWB Magazine has released it's Top 10 list for the Heavyweight Division:

Champ: Jack Johnson 6-0-0 (2)

8. Rocky Marciano 6-1-0 (5)

Chris Byrd appears to be first in line for a winner of tomorrow's Johnson/Dempsey TBCB Heavyweight Title match. Tomorrow's PPV will also feature George Foreman, Buster Douglas and "Sugar Ray" Robinson in action.

TBCB Heavyweight Title Match:

Well this looks to be about the worst possible thing for Chris Byrd as he'll actually have to fight before getting a chance to sign a title match. He could still leap frog Dempsey in the rankings if luck is on his side but I doubt it. I'll have rankings later today.

Cassius Clay, Chris Byrd and Vitali Klitchko will be in action at tomorrow's PPV.

Mad Dog - March 29, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
Heavyweight ratings stay the same so Chris Byrd is out of luck right now as Jack Johnson vs. Jack Dempsey has been signed for Friday.

Interesting scenario... I'll be checking it out to see where it goes.

GO TYSON!

Mad Dog - March 30, 2005 12:14 PM (GMT)
The Top 10 is going to be in my signature from now on. That way every other post here won't be some minor movement in the rankings.

TBCB Super Middleweight Title Match:
James Toney © 8-1-0 d. Ray Leonard 12-2-0 by TKO 2:41 into the 3rd Round to retain the TBCB Super Middleweight Title

Ray Leonard just can't beat Toney for some reason. Both of his losses have come in TBCB Super Middleweight Title bouts. If Leonard can hold onto his no.1 contenders spot he might get his next shot in a few days.

Mad Dog - March 31, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
Since I'll be working on my Impact Report tomorrow I'm going to post this a day early so I don't forget.

Mad Dog - March 31, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
More bad news for Chris Byrd as Jack Johnson managed to hang onto the No.1 Contenders spot and gets the next title shot by TBCB rules. It looks like Jack Johnson and Jack Dempsey will go at it one last time for the TBCB Heavyweight Title on Monday April 4th.
