Title: OAO Lock Down Discussion
Mad Dog - March 26, 2005 04:57 PM (GMT)
Lock Down Card so far:
Six Sides of Steel:
Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page and Sean Waltman vs. Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown and the Outlaw
AJ Styles vs. Abyss
NWA X Division Title Match:
Christopher Daniels © vs. Elix Skipper
NWA Tag Team Title Match:
America's Most Wanted © vs. Petey Williams, Eric Young or Alastair Ralph
Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode
I think it's a promising card so far.
Big F'N Swigg - March 26, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
I would prefer someone other than Skipper as Daniel's opponent, and I'm not excited about the AMW-Team Canada match. But otherwise, I think it's a decent card
Mad Dog - March 26, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
Yeah I'd rather Daniels defend against Sabin or Killings myself. I think AMW/Team Canada should be good. Styles vs. Abyss potentially in a cage has my excited. Plus I think Rhodes/Roode has some potential.
The main event could be ok if it just turns into a War Games style brawl.
Big F'N Swigg - March 26, 2005 05:31 PM (GMT)
I think Rhodes/Roode will be a surprisingly good match. I just wish that Dusty wasn't booking his kid in EVERY PPV
whitemilesdavis - March 26, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
I've still got no beef with lil' Dust. It's not like he's getting a huge push up the card, and I do think he's a capable worker.

Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page and Sean Waltman vs. Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown and the Outlaw
-As much as I DON'T wanna see this match, I am still somewhat happy that I won't have to watch another clusterfuck title defense by Jarrett.
QUOTE
AJ Styles vs. Abyss
-Well, I liked this feud the last go around, so it'll be alright in a cage. I just wonder who they are trying to elevate with this match....
QUOTE
NWA X Division Title Match: Christopher Daniels © vs. Elix Skipper |
-If they weren't tag partners at one time I really wouldn't care. Plus, Daniels gets to show us how good he really is as he's going to have to carry Elix in this one.
QUOTE
NWA Tag Team Title Match: America's Most Wanted © vs. Petey Williams, Eric Young or Alastair Ralph |
-If it's Young/Petey in this one.....it'll probably be the match of the night. Otherwise, I have no clue what they hell this one'll be like.
QUOTE
Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode
-Well, at least it's not Rhodes vs. Raven again.
Also I heard that they were going to do Raven/Hardy too, but know I don't know if that's happening or not.......hopefully not.
Mad Dog - March 26, 2005 09:13 PM (GMT)
They had a little confrontation on Impact! but I haven't listed it yet because it hasn't been offically announced.
I like that it only took them 2 weeks to get most of the matches put together. I've been so sick of the last minute throwing together the WWF started doing in 99.
D.A.V.E. - March 26, 2005 09:27 PM (GMT)
While it's certainly a better card than the last one, and ignoring the stupid booking matches (Roode - Dusty Jr) and Hardy - Raven, I think having two cage matches bordes on stupid overkill
Big F'N Swigg - March 26, 2005 09:54 PM (GMT)
I think if they made both matches six man tags, it would work well. A Survivor Series/Wargames cross breed. It would allow for more people to get on the show.
Otherwise, it's annoying. Just like the "pull a feud out of nowhere" booking Dusty can do. I mean, really, why are Rhodes and Roode fighting? I'm not really sure
Scrooge McSuck - March 26, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
So many TNA PPVs so little caring. Six Sides of Steel has become Age in the Cage (4 of the people are 40 and older, while 2 are near, if not already 50 (DDP and Nash).
Styles vs. Abyss I must've seen 5 times already on weekly PPVs, AMW vs. Team Canada is a stale combination, and Rhodes vs. Roode doesn't seem promising.
Go Skipper/Daniels though! (waves banner)
Mad Dog - April 2, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
Apolo vs. Lance Hoyt has been added to the card according to the scroller on yesterday's Impact.
dynamite kido - April 2, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)
WTF? I just realized that there won't be any Shocker. TNA is definately 0% Guapo.
Mad Dog - April 2, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking he'll take on Chris Candido or he'll be in a tag match of some sort with Chris Sabin against Candido's group.
dynamite kido - April 20, 2005 04:59 PM (GMT)
Here's a little lineup switch....
QUOTE
TNAWrestling.com has announced that Kevin Nash will miss this Sunday’s Lockdown Pay-Per-View "due to a knee injury as a result of a staph infection the superstar recently suffered." They said that Dusty Rhodes will name Nash's replacement in the Six Sides of Steel match on Sunday, at the show. They also mentioned that Sonjay Dutt will be replacing Kid Kash in the “Xscape” match, taking on Michael Shane, Chris Sabin and Shocker.

If you'll remember the Nash interview I posted last week, he said he might pull out of the PPV, so two things - 1) He's not injured, 2) this is probably the end of Nash in TNA as he's been working per appearance. In my mind that's one down, three to go.
I'm cool with Sonjay getting on the PPV, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a push. He's fun to watch in the ring and apparently not a basket-case like Kash.
Scrooge McSuck - April 21, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
I got dibs on he was supposed to do the job and refused to do it.
whitemilesdavis - April 21, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
I would bet that's part of it, but I also think he's trying to pull a power play to get the book.
Scrooge McSuck - April 21, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
... Oh God, NO! I hope everyone in TNA boycotts if that happens, since Nash is one of the people most responsible for WCW's death. He's the genius that thought him going over Goldberg was a good idea.
dynamite kido - April 21, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
The sad thing is, Nash wouldn't be so bad with the book.......if he wasn't wrestling. He does have a grasp of how to book, I just wouldn't allow him to wrestle if he was to do it. He's stressed plenty of times that TNA needs to push the younger guys and he would probably be the only person that they would have book that would. Dusty sure hasn't and Dutch Mantell is worse than Dusty with pushing the younger/smaller guys.
whitemilesdavis - April 22, 2005 01:02 PM (GMT)
Nash would be a good member of a booking team if he weren't wrestling. He has some great ideas...but also some terrible ones. He's also such a politician I think you're better off without him.
dynamite kido - April 24, 2005 05:53 AM (GMT)
If you are interested in seeing Lockdown and you are not ordering the PPV, I can help.....PM me for details
Mad Dog - April 25, 2005 04:01 AM (GMT)
Looks like the show turned out to be average.
dynamite kido - April 25, 2005 05:11 AM (GMT)
I watched the show tonight and I actually enjoyed a lot of it. I'll throw a review up in the next few days.
