Title: I Found An Old Tape
Description: 1983-1987

Mad Dog - March 12, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
I must have bought this from someone at some point. It's just a comp tape of matches from the 80s. It's in really rough shape due to age but here's some of the matches that I've seen so far with plenty more to see:

Andre the Giant and Jimmy Snuka vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper and Dr. D David Schultz

WWF Title Match:
Hulk Hogan © vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper

Hulk Hogan and Hillbilly Jim vs. Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy

WWF Title Match:
Hulk Hogan © vs. Macho Man Randy Savage - before Savage's IC Title run

Jake Roberts vs. Ricky Steamboat

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. the Tonga Kid

It's been a fun tape so far. I'll post the other matches as I dig my way through the tape this weekend.

Looks like some MSG footage... or maybe some Boston Garden as well. Depending on the locations, I might actually have a few of those matches. If Piper/Schultz v. Andre/Snuka has Andre taken out midmatch, that was pretty fun, and Hogan/Savage any time from 1985-86 ruled. Roberts/Steamboat the same for 86-87.

Yeah, the tag match saw Andre leaving mid-match.

Kinda sounds like a comp of CV matches to me. Good selection.

Yeah, those are all matches released by Coliseum. Nice selection there.

Uncle Elmer vs. Big John Studd... you poor son of a bitch. :(

MillenniumMan831 - March 13, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
Eh, it was only about 2 minutes. Plus, you need matches like that to make you appreciate the good stuff.

Scrooge McSuck - March 13, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
Matches like that used to get me over medicated.

Nothing wrong with some Wrestlecrap every now and again....

A show full of 1-hour tecnical matches would really suck. You have to break a show up a bit with comedy, squashes, and the like. The problem is when you don't have enough great wrestling on a show to counteract the crap.

I just saw that the other day and I love that little bout. Slick on commentary is a great touch too, never really heard him calling a match before. That's a crazy fun match with six pros.
