Title: Predictions for 2005 MLB Season?
Description: It's that time again...
Scrooge McSuck - March 2, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
Maybe we can get some discussion going here, to see how everyone stands on the 2005 season to see who will place where in their division, make the playoffs, and ultimately, the World Series.
However, I plan to give mine a little extra thought, so I won't be posting mine until the morning after I have my cat nap, but I have 3 handy magazines on roster updates, scouting reports, etc. etc. to guide me to the good side. (crosses fingers) Come on Tampa Bay... you can have a winning season for once... (chants)
So... place all bets here. (no betting allowed)

Fuck your Yankees and Red Sox.
2005 World Series Champions: Minnesota Twins

I'll wait until I look over the Twins stats (1 of many teams I have no interest in except for Johan), but if their roster is the same as last years, I'll just say this...
One man can't beat an entire team in a best 3 out of 5 series, and the Twins continued that remark. After Johans All-Star start in game 1 of the ALDS vs. New York, the Twins really had nothing that stood out enough to win. Brad Radke is a pretty good pitcher, but not outstanding/dominant enough, and their lineup really wasn't that great.

I say the Red Sox do it again.
But, to be honest, I always pick Duke to win the NCAA tournament, so I'm probably wrong.

I see no problem in picking Boston. They are stronger as a team this year than last year probably (although losing Pedro probably will sting a little bit). However, as a Yankee fan, I must say the Red Sox suck, and hope for them to finish worse than the Devil Rays.
GOD DAMN YOU, A-ROD! WHY'D YOU HAVE TO SLAP THE GOD DAMN BALL OUT OF THE GUYS HAND?!?!

Honestly, I think Sox have a good chance. It's going to be Sox and Yankees and Cardinals and :shrugs:. Series: Sox and Cards.
Sox win.

(throws a bomb in Plagues house) Red Sox are just another team now, and THAT is much sweeter than the stupid fucking curse.
"Hey, how bout those Red Sox?"
"Who?"
"The team that ended that 86 year run of shit."
"Oh them... who cares. How bout those 97 year loser Cubs? THEY ARE CURSED!"
"Hell yeah!"

To quote my friend Kerri:
There was no curse!!!
And I'm not saying Sox have good chance just because or because they're the "home team" - but because they're actually looking good.
