Big F'N Swigg - February 24, 2005 03:15 PM (GMT)
Starting with this debut article and continuing every mid-week, TNAwrestling.com will update fans on all the latest news concerning the upcoming TNA Pay-Per-Views as well as Impact on Fox Sports Net.
- On Tuesday afternoon, TNA management finalized a “wishlist” of potential names for the remainder of Pay-Per-Views for 2005. Once the names are legally cleared, TNAwrestling.com will release the full 2005 Pay-Per-View schedule.
- Returning from a weekend tour in Puerto Rico, the monster Abyss stayed in Orlando on Monday and was spotted by Universal Studios staff in and around the Impact Zone at Soundstage 21. It appears Abyss is already scouting good locations to annihilate Jeff Hardy in their falls count anywhere “Final Assault” match at Destination X.
- According to sources close to Jeff Jarrett, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion has enlisted his personal attorney to review any and all decisions made by Dusty Rhodes involving Jarrett in the weeks leading up to Destination X. Rumors say Jarrett is convinced Rhodes has a personal vendetta against him and will do anything in his power to get the World Title off him. Based on recent World Title Match stipulations the Director of Authority has decreed, Jarrett may have good reason to seek out legal representation as we draw nearer to Destination X.
- Speaking of the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, he’s also made no secret of the fact that he was responsible for the surprise debut of The New Age Outlaw in TNA at Against All Odds. According to sources that spotted The Outlaw backstage at Orlando in the weeks leading up to his debut, the superstar had a handful of secretive meetings with Jarrett. Since arriving, The New Age Outlaw hasn’t been far from the World Champion’s side.
- Although Kevin Nash was robbed by the New Age Outlaw of the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Against All Odds, many considered the bout the best of Nash’s illustrious career. According to friends close to Nash, get ready for a repeat performance at Destination X as “Big Sexy” is looking to decapitate The Outlaw in a “No Disqualification” match. Nash has been hitting the gym harder than ever since the Pay-Per-View and has taken his cardio to a new level as he prepares for the upcoming bout.
- Expect America’s Most Wanted, Kid Kash, Lance Hoyt, 3Live Kru, Team Canada, Primetime, The Naturals and more to compete on March 13 in Orlando. TNA management are finalizing match details for all of the above.
- The superstar known as "Trytan" made his debut on Impact last week, interrupting a match between The Alpha Male Monty Brown and Lance Hoyt. The mysterious Trytan stood at the entrance and pointed at The Alpha Male - only to disappear moments later. According to TNA management Trytan is scheduled to appear this Friday on Impact, although the reason behind his actions towards The Alpha Male Monty Brown are still unknown.
- The upcoming Impact events will be extremely important for the superstars of the X Division, as Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes and the NWA Championship Committee will be watching closely. Based on the X Division matches on Impact, Rhodes and the Committee will select three opponents to face The Phenomenal AJ Styles in the Ultimate X Challenge at Destination X. In other words, the pressure will be on the X class to impress big time in order to get an invitation into the match!
- Regarding the rules of the Ultimate X Challenge at Destination X, the bout will begin with the four superstars competing in a Tag Team Match. When one is pinned or eliminated, the bout becomes a Triple Threat Match. When another is pinned or eliminated with two superstars remaining, the scramble to bring down the gold begins as the Ultimate X Match will commence.
- Dustin Rhodes appears to have some backup in his war with Raven, as the superstar has been teaming with NWA World Tag Team Champions America’s Most Wanted in recent weeks. AMW are no strangers to Raven and surely have plenty of advice to offer Rhodes regarding his upcoming Bull Rope Match at Destination X. Based on their in-ring chemistry, sources say AMW and Rhodes have approached TNA management about future six man tag team bouts involving the trio, and get their wish this Friday on Impact as they square off against Team Canada.
- In addition to AMW/Dustin vs. Team Canada, this weekend’s Impact will also feature more match announcements for Destination X. In action this week on Impact will be Chris Sabin, Kid Kash and a match pitting Primetime Elix Skipper against Chris Candido. Plus, both NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarett and Diamond Dallas Page are expected to be in the same arena!

They are really just calling Billy Gunn "The New Age Outlaw?" I wish I could use that vomiting smiley that TSM has.
Ditto for "Trytan." What are they thinking...

Is Trytan the Ultimate Warrior rip-off we saw earlier?

The New Age Outlaw?! That has to be the biggest trademark fucking since calling Ray Traylor "The Boss". Man, was he big.

Candido/Skipper on Impact should own. Besides Daniels, Candido's easily the best worker in TNA...

What? Have you seen Candido lately? No offense, but Candido was never great, and now, he's not even really good. He's not in the top ten workers in TNA.

I'd beg to differ. Hell, Candido although out of shape is still a better worker than 90% of the TNA roster. The only ones that are head and shoulders above him are Daniels, Styles, Sabin, Petey, and maybe I'm forgetting someone else, but there surely isn't many more than that.

At this point in his career, I'd definitely put Killings above him. Oh yeah, Skipper and Dutt, too. He's more in line with Pat Kenney nowadays.

Killings I would agree with you on. Skipper and Dutt though.....I would still put him above as far as in ring workers.......but they have him beat in the spot monkey dept.

So even by your estimations he's sixth, which isn't saying a lot in TNA. Iw ould say he's no more capable than JJ in the ring.
