Description: Looks good

QUOTE
TNA officials had meetings yesterday with the FOX Sports Network about a planned three hour live special to air on the Network next month. The meetings are slated to continue today.

While not definite, the talk going around is that the event would be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday 4/2, the night before WWE's Wrestlemania 21. TNA sources would only comment that conversations were ongoing, but nothing was definite yet.

That looks like that could be really good. Has anyone heard abut this?

Mad Dog - February 23, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
That's definately a good night to do a J Cup style X Division tournament.

whitemilesdavis - February 23, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
I would love to see that, but being a pre-mania show, I think they need to have a bigger show than any of their PPV's. Big blow-off matches, championships change hands, and big name free agents. I think they could atract a big audience with that timing.

Scrooge McSuck - February 23, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
If it is a Tournament for the X-Division they better bring in 4 or 5 ringers, instead of putting every lame, paint-by-numbers X Division wrestler they have now. Of course, I'm talking about a company that refused to pay Jushin Ligers transportation because he wasn't a recognized enough star.

Mad Dog - February 23, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
AJ Styles
Christopher Daniels
Chris Sabin
Petey Williams
LA Park
Kid Kash
Spanky
Jerry Lynn

I think that would make for an interesting one night tournament.

whitemilesdavis - February 23, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
I'd love it, but I don't think it would draw a significant crowd.

Scrooge McSuck - February 23, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
I would take Kid Kash out, and put Elix Skipper in. He's more consistant in the ring, and can set up Skipper vs. Daniels in the Semis, or maybe the finals. The battle of Triple X!

Speaking of Triple X, whatever happend to Low Ki?

whitemilesdavis - February 23, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
I know at one point they wanted him full time, but he had too much going on in Japan, so they stopped using him.

Mad Dog - February 23, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
Low-Ki's just become an asshole since he started in Japan and has become difficult to deal with in the U.S.

RoH has trouble with him too.

whitemilesdavis - February 23, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
He kicked a door in the last 3PW show. I know it was over pay, but it was stuoid to damage the venue, which has nothing to do with 3PW.

jamiegeist - February 24, 2005 12:03 AM (GMT)
I have to say I think Kash is more consistent in the ring than Skipper. Kash gets no respect cause he is a midget. Skipper keeps deteriorating in the ring, and is getting sloppier and sloppier by the match. His opener with Petey Williams at Against All Odds had some embarassing moments in it. The whole "matrix" dodging thing just comes off lame to me, cause he can't do it all that quick. For me, I take Kid Kash as a better performer right now, regardless size.

And I'm all for a J Cup style tourney. That would kickass. It wouldn't hurt though if they could grab a big name from the US and Japan too however. I know nothing of Japan, so I can't say there. For that matter, can't say much for the US either.

Note to TNA to make this awesome.

1. Bring in James Gibson (Knoble) for this. (US)

2. Bring in KENTA......he owns our faces. (Japan)

3. Bring in Shocker. (Mexico)

Add those three with Sabin, Styles, Daniels, Killings, and Petey Williams and you got the best thing TNA could put out there. I know it's wishful thinking, but that's the best thing they could do right now.

jamiegeist - February 24, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
My proposed TNA Supercard for the night before Mania.

Styles vs. Jarrett © for the Title
This needs to be done. Styles is their most recognizable name that wasn't born and raised in WCW/WWE and he is always over. Enough with the old farts facing Jarrett. Do this match.

Tourney for Vacated X Division Gold
Have some kind of no finish to the Ultimate X (maybe the cables break when all 4 men are on it...kick up the dangerous degree a bit so people don't forget how amazing it is. So the title is vacated.)
1st Round
Kid Kash v Primetime
Chris Daniels v Sonny Siaki
Sabin v Sonjay Dutt
Shark Boy v ??????

With a tourney, this thing is getting quite big, but fuck it, it is fantasy booking anyway. I left Petey out of the tourney cause I want this match:

Team Canada (Petey, Young, Roode, Devine)vs. Team DX/Clique/Oldguys (Nash, Outlaw, BG James, SyxxPac) - Elimination Rules

AMW © v 3 Live Kru (Konnan/Killings) for the straps.

Anyway, this is all I have so far. And I just made it up, so...whatever. But they should do something cool. I guess Monty Brown should be in somewhere, not that I care about him.

whitemilesdavis - February 24, 2005 05:20 PM (GMT)
Break the bank. Pay Goldberg for two shows. Beat Jarrett for the title at this show, drop it at the next PPV.

whitemilesdavis - February 25, 2005 02:08 PM (GMT)
Nevermind on this show. It's gonna be another BDSSP cross-promotion. I'll skip it.

Scrooge McSuck - February 25, 2005 03:14 PM (GMT)
The world couldn't wait for Tom fucking Arnold to make another appearence in the ring. (SARCASM ALERT!)
