Title: Almost A Year Has Passed

And boy did those wins over Triple H sure didn't do a damn thing for Shelton. It seems being in the ring with Triple H either does nothing for you or kills your career.
Wonderful.

Someone needs to steal Triple H's mojo.

Benjamin actually is a step up if you think about it. Sure, the wins really haven't done anything in terms of main events, but last year at this time, Benjamin was barely making it on Smackdown, doing semi-regular Velocity duty as a Tag Team wrestler with Charlie Haas, another Velocity mainstay.
He's currently been Intercontinental Champion for over 5 months.

It's nothing Triple H has done. A win over him shouldn't be a slight bump on the card for you.
His program with Benoit did more for him before Wrestlemania XIX.

The biggest problem with Shelton Benjamin is that before tonight he had not really displayed any sort of character or personality other than "I'm a good guy, which means I'm friends with the other good guys and I don't like Evolution."

Exactly. I love Shelton, but he hadn't really done shit else. Now, having him beat the snot out of Gene Snitsky is good in so many ways.
