Title: Chris Masters
Description: What Do You Think?

prof_plague - February 22, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
I'm just curious what everyone thought about "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters.

SamoaRowe - February 22, 2005 04:17 AM (GMT)
I thought his debut was yet another boring match. His win over Stevie Richards will be the first in his streak of wins against the likes of Hurricane, Rosey, Val Venis, and Chris Jericho. Then when he fails to get over he'll be sent back to the minor leagues while the wrestlers who jobbed to him lose more and more credibility. Then in six months he'll resurface on Smackdown and will promptly defeat Shannon Moore and Hardcore Holly.

Real F'n Show - February 22, 2005 04:23 AM (GMT)
I dub him: The Masterpieceofshit.

It's like Heidenreich with Ken Shamrock's face.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 04:24 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't go that far... he's Heidenreich with Rene Duprees face and Shamrocks charisma.

Mad Dog - February 22, 2005 04:26 AM (GMT)
Would it kill the WWF to actually hire someone different. These new guys are getting so interchangable that I can't tell them apart. Everyone's the fucking same anymore.

Definately. Same with the divas. Give these motherfuckers a personality dipshits. WWE fans aren't smart enough to tell them apart.

Mad Dog - February 22, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
This is honestly why I don't watch. No one has any personality whatsoever. Especially when Triple H and JBL suck up all of the screen time.

And what makes it worse is the guys still in OVW are worse than what we've been getting.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)
When is WWE going to call up that Matt guy from Tough Enough III? They seem to tease it un internet rumors now and then, but for whatever reason, call it off at the last minute.

Mad Dog - February 22, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
I hope he rots in OVW forever. Don't need Tough Enough people stinking up the tv.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
He actually looks like he has talent, judging by his dark matches and heaty/velocity duty last year. Definitely better than half the roster of RAW now, and light years better than some slugs being called up like Tyson Tomko, Kevin Fertig, Chris Masterbates, etc. etc.

Hell, bring Johnny back, and don't give him a stupid gimmick (or maybe not) by giving him a new nickname every week.

He had charisma? Must have missed it.

SamoaRowe - February 22, 2005 05:11 AM (GMT)
Masters did have one poor debut tonight.

Then again, Batista's Raw debut against Justin Credible was just about equally as shitty.

And Orton's Raw debut against Richards was nothing to write home about either.

There goes my case :P

Funny thing you say that about the divas. Early today I was saying to a friend that I don't even really know which one is which anymore...with a few exceptions. But then again, those are the few that actually also wrestle, or have been around for at least a few years.

prof_plague - February 22, 2005 05:50 AM (GMT)
I really have to agree with TheManErnieRowe's first comment. He's going to have a few more squash matches, and (hopefully) be sent back or something. He might have ...some... potential. Once I saw he was wrestling Richards on Raw I shuddered and knew it was only going to be a moment before Richards lost.

...It makes me sad. Before Richards hurt his neck back in the day, and even after he hurt his neck, he would take these sick bumps...and now he taps out to something not far from a stiff, full nelson.

SamoaRowe - February 22, 2005 01:28 PM (GMT)
What really made me sad was when they were going to have that battle royal for the World title and Vince McMahon came out and called the title shot off because "how would we like it if Steven Richards was the World Champion."

Personally, it would have been a hell of a lot more interesting than what we got

It was karma that tore Vince's quads.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 01:29 PM (GMT)
Stevie Richards as champ would've been the best and worst decision of all time.

The best because it shows that anyone could win, but the worst because Richards has jobbed to everyone and their mother.

He did pin the first ever Undisputed Champion right before Wrestlemania last year

Nope, it was either the last Raw before Wrestlemania XX or the one before it... but Stevie Richards picked up a pinfall victory over Chris Jericho.

I think Christian distracted Jericho, but it shouldn't have been enough to cause Jericho to lose to Raw's resident jobber.

whitemilesdavis - February 22, 2005 03:10 PM (GMT)
Two words sum up my thoughts on Masters.

Full Nelson.

Now you can decide if that's positive or not, but this this new "star" used a frigging full nelson for a finisher.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
He's this generations Warlord! Let's just hope he gets in a car accident and has to retire for 9 years. Nothing serious, but keep him out of the damn ring.

dynamite kido - February 22, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Every time Masters wrestlers God kills a kitten.

In other words......he fucking blows ass.

Shamrock had charisma? I must've missed that.

At least Shamrock could get "in his zone" and go insane. This guy just stands around and poses.

Come to think of it, Shamrock had a legit toughguy gimmick as well. This Masters guy just shows up out of nowhere. That's the WWE's problem with bringing in all these new guys. Why the hell should I care about them?

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
They tell us to... good thing no one listens to them.

dynamite kido - February 22, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
So they bring in Masters.....and his gimmick is his build. Yet, Bautista who they are building as the monster of the company is twice the guys size.....good job WWE.....you never cease to amaze me.

Scrooge McSuck - February 22, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Don't forget, Batista was first DEACON Batista, the sidekick of Reverend D'Von... Wrestlecrap Central, U.S.A.

I will never forget the first time I saw Deacon Bautista and thought "Why isn't D-Von HIS sidekick."

That's what happens when you only hire guys who are 6'2'' or taller and 250+ lbs.

Never...ever tease that! You know how would love the day to come where Steven Richards wins the World title. ...Any title at this point.

That's right! Thank you! Thank you!

I was trying to remember why Batista was called Deacon Batista and the memory didn't come to me.

Think of it this way too...

In RoH, the biggest wrestler was it's 21 month Heavy-Weight champion, Samoa Joe. And Joe is 6'3", 280 pounds. In WWE, they're a dime-a-dozen.

Side note: I forgot about one other wrestler in RoH...Slugger is a bigger guy too. But he really doesn't wrestle, though. He was a body guard for Special K. ...And is Slugger still around with RoH anyhow?

Hahahah. Yeah, I should have. It was one of those things where I was only going to reply to one of the posts, and realized there was more afterwards. I'll try to look and post better next time. ;)

And CB, I'll try to post whore just as often.

Although I might post seperately when they're seperate ideas from one another.

And DK...you'll never see that dollar ever again. :(

...Which makes me think...I wonder what the WWE did with all that money afterwards? How much profit they made off of doing that show-by-show?
