Title: Matches were your opinion changed
Description: what are yours?

Have you even seen a match as a kid that you loved only to be dissappointed watching it later?

Or have you ever hated a match and then in watching it later you finally realized the awesomeness of it?

This is the thread where we shall discuss.

As a kid, I thought the entire Wrestlemania IV show was the best show ever. Looking at it now, it's just 4 hours boring wrestling, with a few small mark out moments, and an overall dead crowd.

the 1993 Rumble Match used to be a favorite of mine, but now it's just really boring with a bunch of midcarders with no hope in hell of winning.

Angle vs. Benoit, Rumble. Half of the reason I didn't like it as much was the fact I felt everyone over-rated all their previous encounters. However, I watched it a few days back and the last ten minutes blew me away. Some of the best nearfalls stuff I've seen in the WWE.

I almost always have to rewatch the main events of Wrestlemania to get my real opinion. I remember hating Rock/Austin at WMX-7 but that was due to burnout with how long those shows are.

Still hate Jericho/HHH from X-8 though.

Hogan/Rock was the REAL Main Event... just saying. :D I hated Jericho/HHH too. I don't even remember a single spot from the match that doesn't include the word "Pedigree".

I remember it was basically just Jericho kicking HHH in the leg for 15 minutes and then HHH completely no selling the entire match at the end.

I remember it was basically just Jericho kicking HHH in the leg for 15 minutes and then HHH completely no selling the entire match at the end.

If you ever decide to re-watch that, you'll find that HHH actually does sells his leg injury throughout the course of the match. He was even selling his quadracep injury after the match.

Not really. I have a lot of leg problems and there's no way he could do a Pedigree with the knee work and quad injury he was supposed to be selling. The best he could've done would be to just kind of fall.

There's a difference between yourself and HHH. HHH back in 2002 was percieved as a powerhouse face. I doubt that you have the physique that HHH had.

Before landing the pedigree, he had already showed that he could land moves but he was still in bother. Landing the pedigree isn't that much of a problem as long as he sold his leg injury after landing the move. It isn't as though Jericho is a 300lbs wrestler. Jericho is light compared to HHH.

I remember watching The WCW Saturday night show in '89 when Eddie Gilbert brought Steamboat out to wrestle Flair and Whindham. It was such a cool moment with Steamboat coming out and all, but over the years I had built it up in my mind as this epic match. After watching it on the Flair DVD, it's just not all that great.

Benoit is God - February 20, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
I could list dozens of matches here. I despised Hart-Michaels Mania 12 but now I think it's underrated. Not close to great but certainly not terrible as many seem to think. Benoit-Sid 1/00 I once thought was Benoit's worst match and now I like it quite a bit. Probably was biased due to the fact that Sid is the face and the crowd is behind him. You really have to watch it from that perspective to enjoy it, I think.
