I'm constantly surprised by the quality of the first season. It really feel apart after this aside from the movie. Great continuity, the theological debates between Megatron and Starscream over leadership and just personalities in general. Though Skyfire annoys me with his naive ways.

I'm surprised how well it's held up as I can barely watch the mess that was G.I. Joe anymore.

Just to add. My favorite Transformer storylines are when Optimus Prime came back and when Megatron brought Cybertron to Earth.

I got the first season for $25 dollars at a used bookstore, and it would have been worth the $50 I was gonna spend for it. It's a perfect balance of simple for children, while being complicated enough for adults to get something out of it.

I love Transformers.
