Andrew Martin, best known for his days as Test in WWE, has been found dead in his apartment at the age of 33. He would have been 34 in four days. Authorities in Tampa, Florida, where Martin lived, have not provided any details yet. They have stated that a body was found in a condo, but have not confirmed that the body in question was Martin, however multiple people within the wrestling industry have confirmed that it was Martin's body that was found.

Martin was released from WWE back in February of 2007 after failing a drug test. He then worked for TNA but was not offered a contract and went on to work a bit in Japan.

411 would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Martin.

Back in my more innocent mark days, I LOVED his match against Shane at Summerslam for the right to continue dating Stephanie. R.I.P.

I saw you're status on Facebook and I thought you were joking.

I was never that great of a fan of Test's except that he was Canadian and I am obligated to cheer for him. However, this is yet another tragedy of a young guy with much more living to do that met his end too soon. Just another entry on the under-40 list, unfortunately. :(

Yeah, it's a true shame. I spent some time thinking about Test this morning and remembering how I actually was something of a mark for him up until around the Steiner feud. I remember getting agitated in 2000 that Test was stuck in an aimless tag team when I really wanted him to be gunning after that bitch Stephanie and her slimeball husband Triple H. They had all these backstage segments when Steph and HHH were recruiting Trish, Test, and Albert to do some dirty work for them and it was obvious that this was of great anger to Test. I kept waiting for the day he would snap and it finally happened in the summer that year. Too bad it was just a plot device to build up the heat between Triple H and Kurt Angle.

I also loved it at the time when Test demolished William Regal to win the European title. And I was a fan of the short Edge/Test feud in later 2001 because at the time I thought they would both get elevated to the main event later and that I would someday be looking back at this rivalry fondly because it would have been weird to remember a time when they were just midcarders. I was just a naive mark, but that's how I felt at the time.

Test didn't do much for me from 2004 - present, except I liked some of his tag matches against Sandman and Dreamer in 2006. I'm glad I got to see him perform live at that ECW house show I went to in 2006, though I don't think I'll be finding the "steroids" chants he got very funny at all in hindsight.

Hopefully it wasn't suicide.

RIP Test. I was never really a big fan, except for the aforementioned Shane match, but things like this always suck.

I was a big fan of his work in T&A, and his team with Steiner.

EDIT: In horrid irony, WWE has the announcement of Test's death on the main page, with the following feature on the Undertaker being titled "Deadman's Retribution"

Wow, this comes as a bit of a surprise.

I was certainly a fan of his tag work over his career and thought that was clearly when he was at his best. I think he showed quite a bit of promise throughout his career, which unfortunately didn't end very well.

R.I.P.

My news sites are reporting that pain killers and steroids were found in his apartment. The cops don't suspect foul play and the coroner is waiting on toxicology to determine cause of death. I'm pretty sure it's fair to say at the very least this was an accidental misuse of drugs.

I read yesterday on various news sites that Oxycodone aka Hillbilly Heroin was the culprit and Test's death has been ruled accidental.

Actually, oxycodone is part of oxycontin, which is the hillbilly heroin.

(I'm typing this from an iPod touch, so I thought it fitting to be a bit condescending)

Thanks for the clarification. :) I read it and I should have refererenced the site. I don't do drugs and don't know that much about them.
