According to Pwinsider.com, Sonjay Dutt is done with TNA. The two sides were trying to come to terms on a new deal, and when they couldn't, Dutt opted to leave the promotion.
As of last week, TNA was still working on plans for Dutt, so they did not expect him to leave. Also, Dutt was essentially the face of TNA in India, where Impact had done very well on TV.
Dutt's profile has been removed from TNAwrestling.com, and as of now, there is no word on the future of SoCal Val, who had been Dutt's on air valet and love interest. |

Well, honestly, I'm in a couldn't care less frame of mind with Sonjay. Petey Williams, now that's someone they could have kept around
SamoaRowe - February 23, 2009 03:24 PM (GMT)
Dutt has his moments. It feels weird that he's gone since he has been there for so long. If they keep getting rid of guys like Williams and bringing in the likes of Brutus Magnus (or whatever his name is) then TNA is going to lose the one really appealing thing it has left for me: the great roster.
The Swigg Lebowski - February 23, 2009 03:47 PM (GMT)
It amazes me that guys like Williams and Dutt, who are young and have much upside, are gone yet the New Age Outlaws are still employed by the company
Viceroy Virus - February 25, 2009 01:56 AM (GMT)
Williams would be a good fit with the current ECW roster. Williams vs. Bourne.
And with the WWE's current interest in the Indian market, Dutt would be a possibility. With Khali face, imagine a Khali/Dutt tag team.

411 said something about WWE showing interest in Dutt. They should make it happen, if they treat him the way they have with Bourne, Dutt could do good things for them.

Dutt is small and East Indian. He is doomed to obscurity in the WWE.

I could see them picking up Dutt and repackaging him as a combo of "Slumdog Millionaire" meets "The Wrestler". But the shelf life of that gimmick has about one month left.
It'd be at least as successful as Jimmy Wang Yang

Well there you go. Sign him up, so that gimmick, as soon as the shelf life is over cut him and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

I'm surprised no one in TNA thought to go all Slumdog on Dutt. That seems like the type of shameless tie-in they'd be all over.

True, but this is TNA we're talking about. They'll bring back Dutt and have him do the Slumdog bit once the movie is out of site and completely forgotten.

It looks like Lance Hoyt is out, too!

That's fine with me. I could have done without Hoyt sometime ago. The best thing he's done that comes to mind is as Rock 'N Rave Infection. ...But that's mostly because of Jimmy Rave. The only downside is that he's another guy who's been with TNA for sometime now as an original.
Jillie - March 3, 2009 05:08 AM (GMT)
Hoyt AND Rave are out. Sabin and Shelley's contracts are up very soon too! Eek!
SamoaRowe - March 3, 2009 08:37 PM (GMT)
Shelley should be fine as he's in the midst of an X title push. I would've considered Sabin to be a safe bet to stick around if they hadn't just canned Williams.

According to Pwinsider.com, Sean Morley and Roxxi are both done with TNA. Roxxi broke her ankle upon returning to the company in December of 2009, and was not under a contract during that time. Morley stated on his the following on his Facebook…
"Yes folks, I am now through for now with TNA as I want to wrestle in Mexico. I was going to perform in both TNA and CMLL but now with the switch to Mondays for TNA, and the fact that TNA had nothing solid yet, Mexico here I come!"
