Description: or, the slowest thread at DWB

The Swigg Lebowski - February 11, 2009 12:31 AM (GMT)
It's 2 months into 2009, I think we should start a new thread.

Not like anyone's really watching. Or that anyone could blame them

SamoaRowe - February 11, 2009 03:13 AM (GMT)
Haha, good call.

Jillie - March 17, 2009 04:30 AM (GMT)
Hey!! I watch! Every week! I'm just too lazy to type any of my thoughts.

But here is my thought for this week, including the PPV;

I don't like Joe's new gimmick.

That is all.

Viceroy Virus - March 19, 2009 03:02 AM (GMT)
I've been working late on Thursdays.

The hell is Joe's new gimmick?

Jillie - March 19, 2009 06:25 PM (GMT)
This "Nation of Violence" bull crap. I enjoy his new look - the face paint and new pants are great. But I am not a fan of chasing Scott Steiner down with a machete, let alone walking around backstage with blood on it and Lauren freaking out about the whereabouts of one Genetic Freak. It is far too much and it comes off as silly (at best) or mildly uncomfortable (which is how I feel about it). IMO Joe should lose the machete and not take the popular slogan "Joe's Going to Kill You" so seriously. Wrestling is for pretending to beat people up, not pretending to murder them.

Amen to that, sista.

Wait-wait-wait...really? Man, I thought TNA was taking a good turn last year and now they're back to this.

The Swigg Lebowski - March 20, 2009 08:18 PM (GMT)
Caught most of the last half of the show last night, and though everything was convoluted as usual, Foley's promo to end the show gave me cold chills

Jillie - March 28, 2009 12:47 AM (GMT)
LOVED Foley's promo last week. Just watching yesterday's show - did everyone get free Suicide T-Shirts or something?

Klossing - April 10, 2009 05:33 AM (GMT)
i actually thought last nights Impact was pretty good. I liked the Guns/Foley match. I mean wrestling wise the show was god awful. But storyline wise and advancing angles to Lock Down I thought the impact was very good. I am loving the build up to Beer Money/3D.

Jillie - April 21, 2009 02:40 AM (GMT)
Finally just got to watch Impact from Thursday and am going to watch Lockdown next. I would just like to say one thing:

[markout] FALL-EN ANG-EL!! *clap clap clapclapclap* FALL-EN ANG-EL!! *clap clap clapclapclap* FALL-EN ANG-EL!! *clap clap clapclapclap* [/markout]

Klossing - April 21, 2009 04:44 AM (GMT)
It was probably the best impact since they got the 2 hour deal. TNA really moved the angles along great on impact. Lock Down was okay, nothing you should go out of your way to see, but definitely worth checking out. I think it was better than Mania by a mile.

Jillie - May 5, 2009 02:30 AM (GMT)
I am watching Impact from Thursday and I would just like to point out that the last segment of the night - Kurt Angle's "hostile takeover" of Mick Foley's office - was the funniest promo I have ever seen in my life.

Infinite Devil Machine - May 15, 2009 03:46 AM (GMT)
On this most recent episode of Impact, in a backstage segment, Kevin Nash visually implied that he gave Jenna Morasca a money shot and then smacked her across the face with his dick. "Dotting the I's and crossing the T's". Why is this man a heel? He'd make a great fun-loving babyface. You've gotta know Nash and Booker T are going to feud down the line, and I hope Nash becomes the defacto face. He's earned it.

Also, Jeff Jarrett has a jetski. I want a jetski... :(

Viceroy Virus - May 25, 2009 05:26 AM (GMT)
I just read that Shane Douglas, Raven, Amazing Red and Victoria are going to be on this week's iPMACT. I might actually have to watch it. Man, I'm a Victoria mark, even if she's been jobbing for the past good few years.

The Swigg Lebowski - June 17, 2009 04:08 PM (GMT)
I want to be interested in the arrival of Douglas, Raven, and Foley's run, but it feels like it's something I've already seen, or should be seeing with new faces. That's the sad thing about Impact

The Swigg Lebowski - June 22, 2009 02:45 PM (GMT)
I'll admit, while I fast forward through most of Impact anymore, Daffney is really taking advantage of what time she's been given

SamoaRowe - July 5, 2009 06:39 PM (GMT)
I actually watched Impact this week. It was mostly painless. I kinda like the brooding tension between Joe and Styles, though I HATE the direction they've taken Joe in. It's not all TNA's fault, I guess, as he doesn't look to be in very good shape right now anyhow. I thought he was injured, but he wrestled decently during the tag team main event.

Dude, Joe's always looked like that.

SamoaRowe - July 6, 2009 02:18 PM (GMT)
He's never looked like an adonis, but he's always looked menacing. Right now he just looks like a goofy fat guy in pajamas. Perhaps it's his new ring attire more than anything.

Viceroy Virus - July 9, 2009 02:55 AM (GMT)
Daffney/Richards/Raven is probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite, thing in TNA now.

I agree. It's one of the few things in TNA that doesn't feel contrived

Viceroy Virus - July 10, 2009 02:22 AM (GMT)
Also, I'm watching TNA now that Victoria is on the roster. ...And is getting pushed! I'd like pretty much any storyline with her...especially if she has some edge to her.

P.S. - She just won the Knock Out title. w00t1 Her first title since 2004.

I caught that match, randomly. I realized that Victoria/Tara is basically doing a version of Jake the Snake and Damien: knock out your opponent, then put a Creepy Critter on them. As long as Tara doesn't have to face the Survivor chick, Jenna, she should be okay. I think one of the Survivor "Gross Food Challenges" was eating a (dead) tarantula.

I don't get the logic of why Angelina Love would freak out and put her title on the line, because her Second Banana Velvet Sky was about to have a tarantula gently placed on her.

The Last Free Voice - July 12, 2009 05:16 PM (GMT)
Caught some (maybe most) of Impact this week. Not great, but not really horrible either. When the hell did Beer Money turn face? The match with the Murder City Machine Guns was nice. Doug Williams in TNA is cool, though his match with Homicide was ridiculously short and disappointing. Who are the two brutes with Doug? Also: Why is The Fallen Angel now going by just "Daniels"?

Beer Money has turned face during their feud with 3-D because they "respect" 3-D. At least that was the start. The guys with Doug Williams are the British Invasion (TM Big Swigg's NWA Midwest EWR Game) and one of them used to be the Gladiator dude.

There's no logical reason Daniels is just Daniels, they just started that.

Jillie - July 14, 2009 02:18 AM (GMT)
I'd just like to point out that I think Kurt Angle needs to shave.

SamoaRowe - July 14, 2009 11:32 AM (GMT)
Angle looks like an insurance salesman now.

Jillie - July 14, 2009 06:32 PM (GMT)
Oh and Booker T is hilarious on commentary

He looks like Randy Cotoure. (Yeah, I've been turning in to an UFC nerd.)

Cheerleader Melissa is earning her paycheck. Raisha Saeed and Alissa Flash. When I saw her as Alissa Flash, I thought, why so much eye make up,? But that's all you see with her as Raisha.

Also, still awesome that Sarah Stock/Sarita is in TNA. I want Mickie Knuckles/Moose back. They really need to bring in LuFisto as part of the roster. Or Portia Perez, Daizee Haze, Lacey...ok, I look women wrestling.

I could careless about MEM, but the Knock Outs are probably the most interesting programs in TNA.

I see. They might think that if their stars resemble UFC guys, their ratings might go up. Next thing you know, they'll be asking Matt Morgan to get the same tattoos that Brock Lesnar has.

Erick Von Erich - August 7, 2009 09:39 PM (GMT)
Alissa Flash? Sure, "Alissa" is derivative of "Melissa", but that name sounds like an Alternate Earth version of "Alundra Blayze".

The Swigg Lebowski - August 9, 2009 07:24 PM (GMT)
who is Allisa Flash?

Well, that's retarded

ProjectLoveHewitt - August 14, 2009 02:41 AM (GMT)
I got tired of TNA after ten minutes or so tonight.
