Can't go back further than 89; haven't seen enough. 2000 may seem like an odd pick, being such a short match, but I can't think of anything I'd rather watch. I'm not too fond of all the "great" Trips main-events.

I remember thinking the SmackDown match from that week between the two being better, but maybe I'm just mixing them up.

The one I mentioned wasn't in that week. They had four singles matches, I think -

From 2000, HHH imo had a good year. His matches with Foley were entertaining with the Rumble having a good story of HHH using his instincts to get himself throughout the contest.

HHH/Jericho from April on RAW is a hot television match that you will never see these days. It was sort of a HHH/Shelton, just Jericho was treated a bit better and performed better than Shelton did.

HHH/Rock, JD is a good IM match, but does have it's problems preventing it from being great.

HHH/Jericho is a great match. HHH's offence focusing on Jericho's injured ribs is done methodically well. Jericho was a great face in this and the comeback is hot. The payoff to the build is fantastic. The finish was kind of messy, but Jericho looked good even though he lost.

HHH/Benoit, NM is another good contest with the two swapping roles in the early stages. However HHH doesn't sell well in parts and I don't like the treatment of the crossface.

I'll do an almost U.S only list with a few puro stuff that I've managed to check out as I haven't seen a lot the great All Japan work, nor have I seen the Takada/Koshinaka matches.

1984- Harley Race vs. Ric Flair - AJPW: 5/22 (I need Jumbo/Von Erich from the same show)

1985- It has to be a great All Japan tag in this year that I haven't seen.

1986- Akira Maeda vs. Tatsumi Fujinami - NJPW: 6/12

1987- Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat - WrestleMania III

1988- Nobuhiko Takada vs. Bob Backlund - UWF: 12/28

1989- Savage/Hogan, or Flair/Steamboat (Chi-Town, I guess I need the Clash 6 match and Jumbo/Tenryu)

1990- Hogan/Warrior. For WCW, I need Flair/Luger, Midnights/Southern Boys and Sting/Flair (GAB). Jumbo/Kobashi and Jumbo/Misawa are apparently must-haves too.

1991- Savage/Warrior. I need Jumbo/Kawada and War Games. And I need to rewatch the 11/91 Clash tag.

1992- Vader/Sting (GAB) or Savage/Flair. This was AWESOME year. Liger/Pillman, Austin/Zbysko vs. Windham/Rhodes, War Games and a few other WCW tags come close. As does Benoit/Liger - 8/12. Kawada/Misawa looks like essential viewing as well.

1993- Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect - KOTR, this seems to be the best year ever in Japan though.

1994- Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart - WrestleMania 10. I'm gonna get to watching WWC soon, and I desperatley need Kawada/Misawa. I have seen a lot of 94 New Japan stuff, and nothing tops Bret/Owen, although Benoit/Sasuke comes close.

1995- I've seen zero AJ here, so Bret/Nash. Honorable mentions are Pillman/Badd, Michaels/Ramon and Bret/Bulldog.

1996- Misawa/Kobashi - 3/31 or Bret/Austin - Survivor Series.

1997- Bret/Austin - WrestleMania 13. Misawa/Kobashi is necessary for me to look sensible though, and Eddie/Rey isn't better Bret/Austin for me.

1998- Steve Austin vs. The Undertaker. A re-watch for Bret/Benoit and Austin/Foley is due though. But Austin/Taker is a personal fave.

1999- Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit - Nitro: 10/4

2000- Triple H vs. Mick Foley - Royal Rumble 2000

2001- Steve Austin vs. The Rock - WrestleMania X-7

2002- Edge/Mysterio vs. Angle/Benoit - No Mercy
