"Nightmare Revisited" is the soundtrack to Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas," redone by various rock, hard rock, and shock/goth rock artists and bands. This CD is AMAZING. If you liked the original soundtrack, and you like even one of the artists in this track listing, you will LOVE this CD.

Anyway, this is my halloween music suggestion for the year. GREAT investment if, as I said, you liked the original soundtrack and also like any of the artists on this album (the Manson, Flyleaf, Korn and Amy Lee tracks are simply phenomenal).

That tracklisting looks so full of fail it isn't even funny. Didn't they do this last year too, or am I thinking of something else?

It was released in 2008, so says the CD jacket. Wasn't there an anniversary or a re-release of some kind for Nightmare recently? I bet that's why this CD came out. Anyway, the CD rocks. Don't listen to LFV. He probably listens to Miley Cyrus and Hillary Duff. :P

There are maybe three songs on there that look at all interesting. I also heard the song Tiger Army did that got left off the album, and I can see why. Not good at all. It's a decent concept, but they chose some absolutely crap bands to try to pull it off. All American Rejects? Korn? Really? I know you have to move some units, but that's just transparent.

The best I can say is that at least Tokio Hotel (or however they spell it...) isn't on there.

Honestly, the only rendition on this album I don't like is Sparklehorse's. When I bought the CD, I knew Manson, Rejects (who are hit and miss with me), Flyleaf (who are phenomenal), Korn, Amy Lee and T's (who I don't like, but do a great job on this album). However, the rest of the music on this album, except, as I mentioned, the Sparklehorse song, are superb.

The rest of the songs are all instrumental and the arrangements by the bands involved are unique and really good (Sparklehorse's has words, but they don't count since the version they do sucks balls). The Oogie Boogie song, which is originally with lyrics, is done with a Latino vibe, the Yoshida Brothers bring a Japanese-techno element...each band contributes their own special flavour to this project - everything from very rock-band to traditional string quartet. THAT is why I love this CD so much. The original soundtrack was great in all it's musical-theatre goodness, but the arrangements, covers and renditions on this CD are, as mentioned, unique, interesting, and very cool.

Flyleaf are phenomenal? Wow. That's... wow.



Though I do get what you mean about the instrumental songs. I'm not a big enough fan of the movie to have those songs interest me, but I do see where you're coming from from that perspective.
