Title: Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling

Mad Dog - September 20, 2008 09:08 PM (GMT)
Ok, so this is under the same NWA banner that my Mid-South promotion is. They'll share a World Champion and other territories will get added over time. With Mid-Atlantic though you will only get television. Now house shows will be posted unless they talk about the results on television. So for you guys it will be like watching the actual shows. Please note a few things for this. Mid-Atlantic has NWA World Tag Team Champions. This will be the Mid-Atlantic version of the belts. The champions don't travel. Same with the U.S. Title. I did the tournaments so here is the roll call of your Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling champions:

Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair
Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions: Ivan Koloff and Ray Stevens
Mid-Atlantic Television Champion: Jerry Brisco
NWA World Tag Team Champions: Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle
NWA United States Champion: Ricky Steamboat

World Wide Wrestling #1: 5-24-08
taped at WRAL-5 (Charlotte, NC)

Host is Bob Caudle

Caudle: Welcome to the debut episode of World Wide Wrestling. We'll be bringing you exclusive action from the wrestling stars of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. We have a big show for you today as Johnny Weaver, Crusher Blackwell, Tiger Conway Jr., Tony Atlas and the Professor Boris Malenko will all be in action. So stay tuned as we head to the ring for our first match of the night...

Tony Atlas pinned Bill Dixon at 4:08 with a roll up

Tony Atlas joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: A big win for Tony Atlas this week. Tell us what brings you to Mid-Atlantic.

Atlas: I'm here for one reason and one reason only. To win the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship.

Caudle: That belt is currently around the waist of Ric Flair. Are you challenging him for the title?

Atlas: Yes I am. The simple fact is this. I am what a champion should look like. I have the physique. I have the mold to be a champion. Ric Flair is a disgrace to that title. He goes out drinking and womanizing. He uses his belt for all the wrong reasons if you ask me. I want to beat him and restore some class to the title.

Caudle: It's time to head back to the ring...

Crusher Blackwell pinned Rick McGraw at 0:47 with a bodyslam

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Verne Gagne joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: We have a very special guest this week. We're being joined by the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Verne Gagne. What brings you to the World Wide Wrestling studios today?

Gagne: I just wanted to congratulate the Mid-Atlantic area for all of the accomplishments they've achieved over the last months. Television is a big step to being a big time wrestling promotion. The talent here is amazing. I look forward to coming to town and defending my belt against the wrestlers here.

NWA World Tag Team Champions Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle walk onto the set.

Slaughter: I'm glad to hear you say that. You see... I've been eying that belt of your's for quite awhile. Wearing the NWA World Tag Team Championship belt was been really nice. But I think adding the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to my collection would be even better. So what do you say Gagne?

Gagne: I'll have to check with the Championship Committee and see if you've wrestled enough in singles matches lately. If they give the go ahead then you've got a match.

Slaughter: Glad to hear it.

Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle walk off the set.

Caudle: Well... it looks like we'll be seeing even more of the NWA World Heavyweight Champion over the next several weeks. Let's head back to the ring...

Boris Malenko pinned Sonny Rogers at 2:12 with a flying headbutt

Boris Malenko joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: I'm here with the Professor Boris Malenko. He's a newcomer to the Mid-Atlantic region. Tell us a little about yourself.

Malenko: The biggest stars wrestle in Mid-Atlantic and I want the challenge. I want to show everyone that I'm the best technical wrestler in the world today. Better than Ric Flair, better than Ricky Steamboat and better than Verne Gagne.

Caudle: Is there anyone you're specifically targeting here?

Malenko: Yes, there are two men that are at the top of my list. Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Jerry Brisco and NWA United States Champion Ricky Steamboat. If either of you have the guts why don't you put your belts on the line against the best technical wrestler in the world today.

Caudle: Some big words from the newcomer. It's time for more wrestling action...

Tiger Conway Jr. pinned Frank Monte at 5:44 with the Flying Headbutt

Bobo Brazil joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: I'm here with Bobo Brazil. He's been winning a lot of matches and has climbed the contender charts for multiple championships. What's your next move?

Brazil: Well, there are some guys I've seen really bending rules around here. The Iron Sheik, Blackjack Mulligan, Masked Superstar and a lot of other guys. I think I'm going to focus on giving those guys a lot of trouble. I don't really feel the need to hold a championship belt right now.

Caudle: That's an interesting approach. How will you decide who you're going to go after first?

Brazil: I'm going to sit back and watch all of them for awhile and then make a decision.

Caudle: It's time for our final bout of the evening...

Johnny Weaver pinned the Russian Stomper at 4:00 with a snap suplex

Caudle: Join us next week for another edition of World Wide Wrestling. In action will be Greg Valentine, Missouri Mauler, Johnny Weaver, Wahoo McDaniel and the Minnesota Wrecking Crew. See you then!

Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling #1: 5-24-08
taped at WRAL-5 (Charlotte, NC)

Hosts are Bob Caudle and David Crockett

Caudle: Welcome to the debut episode of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. We have a great first show tonight as Jerry Brisco will defend the Mid-Atlantic Television Championship against the Missouri Mauler in our featured bout.

Crockett: It's the battle of two Mid-Atlantic greats. Jerry Brisco is without a doubt a world class wrestler but the Mauler has made a career out of hurting wrestlers. It's going to be a hard fought bout but I think you'll see Brisco hold onto his title for a little while longer.

Caudle: You sound pretty confident about that one. Also in action tonight will be the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff and Ray Stevens, Rufus R. Jones, Blackjack Mulligan and Mark Youngblood. So let's get things started with some inring action...

Rufus R. Jones pinned Bill White at 5:04 with a bodyslam

Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: I'm being joined by Ric Flair. No doubt with a response for Tony Atlas.

Flair: That's right Bob. I want to know who Tony Atlas thinks he is. Coming into my area and demanding a shot at my title. This isn't Georgia, this isn't Texas, this isn't Florida and this isn't Minnesota. This is Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling! You're talking the Briscos, the Funks, Ray Stevens, Blackjack Mulligan, Ricky Steamboat, Greg Valentine, the Masked Superstar and you're talking Ric Flair. Mid-Atlantic is where the best athletes in the world today come to make a name for themselves. Tony Atlas is like every other hot shot that's shown up here. He's been successful in some little podunk wrestling promotion and suddenly thinks he can come to the Carolinas and start demanding shots at me and my championship belt here. Well I've got news for him. It takes more than a bunch of big muscles to be successful here. You need brains, wrestling ability and must importantly the determination and fire to succeed at any cost. So you tell me Tony Atlas. Do you have what it takes to survive here? Let's see what you've got and then, maybe then you can have a shot at this belt right here. WHOOOO!!!

Caudle: It's time for the feature bout...

Main Event:
Mid-Atlantic Television Title Match:
Jerry Brisco © pinned the Missouri Mauler at 10:09 with a body press

Boris Malenko jumps Jerry Brisco after the match. He stomps on the worn down Brisco and then sends him into the ropes and hits the Russian Sickle. He chokes Brisco on the ropes. The Missouri Mauler recovers and it turns into a 2 on 1 beatdown on Brisco. Jack Brisco hits the ring and makes the save.

Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff and Ray Stevens d. Danny Miller and Klondike Bill at 3:12 when Miller is pinned with the Bombs Away

Ivan Koloff and Ray Stevens join Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: I just don't get how a red blooded American like you could team up with a guy like Ivan Koloff. It just seems wrong to me considering the current political situation in the world today.

Stevens: Well, I don't really care about the political state of the world today. I am a professional wrestler. That means I'm paid to win as many matches as possible and I also get more money for winning championships like I currently possess. I am apolitical in every sense of the word. I don't care what this man's political views are. All I know is that he helps me win matches and teaming with him has gotten me this championship belt. He's lining my pocketbook quite nicely.

Koloff: I do not understand why you Americans demand such things. I thought this was the land of the free. Shouldn't this man be free to team with who he wants to?

Caudle: I'm not saying that. All I was asking is why he would team with a man who's main interests are against the interests of his own country.

Koloff: It is very simple. He has seen Russian athletes and how we are superior to the Americans. He has seen the technical superiority of a wrestler like Boris Malenko and he's seen what I can do in the ring. The man wants a successful career not to make political statements.

Stevens: That's right. We're ready to defend these belts anytime and anyplace. Just give us some challengers.

Caudle: Let's head back to the ring for more action...

Mark Youngblood submits Charlie Fulton at 1:37 with a sleeper

NWA United States Champion Ricky Steamboat joins Bob Caudle for an interview.

Caudle: Well you saw what happened to Jerry Brisco at the hands of Boris Malenko earlier tonight. He also mentioned you by name. Do you feel you have to watch your back now.

Steamboat: You always have to be careful when guys like Boris Malenko and the Missouri Mauler are around. They have no regard to the physical health and safety of others. It really makes me sick sometimes. But if they want to see what I'm made of then they're more than welcome to try.

Caudle: Any idea who the next challenger for the title will be?

Steamboat: Some names are being thrown around but I don't know yet.

Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our last match of the evening...

Blackjack Mulligan pinned Keith Franks at 0:46 with a body press

Caudle: Join us next week for another big show. Jerry Brisco will defend the Mid-Atlantic Television Championship against Don Kernodle in our main event. It's going to be champion vs. champion! Also in action will be Dory Funk Jr., Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood, Paul Jones and Dino Bravo. See you next week!

Mad Dog - September 23, 2008 05:11 PM (GMT)
Well. I fucked up. I don't have Don Kernodle as a singles wrestler. So I'm going to keep the champion vs. champion thing and make the new match Jerry Brisco vs. Ray Stevens for the Mid-Atlantic Television Title.
