We will be kicking off The Place to Be's Territory Wars in a week or two. Ravishinglyperfect is in charge, so direct all questions and queries to him. Here is the rundown:
Welcome one and all to your chance to reinvent the world of wrestling with the all new TERRITORY WARS! With this exciting new concept you can step in and rewrite the book on wrestling history! Imagine having Stone Cold Steve Austin as the number one nemesis against the NWO? How would the Rock do with the Four Horsemen raging havoc against him on a weekly basis? Just think if Bret Hart and Kurt Angle could step in the ring to see who was the best of all time? How about seeing the Road Warriors facing off against the Brothers of Destruction? With TERRITORY WARS you will be able to draft your territory and roster and fulfill your fantasy of making the champions the way you see fit. Like the Desert Island Drafts, the initial drafting period will be rotisserie style with all those involved. With over 15 Territories to choose from and over 150 wrestlers involved for the initial draft you as owners can reinvent feuds you have seen or create feuds you dreamed about. Starting soon we will be having sign ups for the draft which is scheduled to start in early September. Here is a quick run down of how things will go
1) Sign up in this thread.
2) Once we have a set group of participants, there will be a draft with each owner getting 16 picks for their territory. The first pick will be for a territory and the second through sixteenth picks will be for singles wrestlers, tag teams, managers and announcers.
3) In the draft, you will draft your wrestlers from any time period you choose and explain the choice and time period in each post. For example, if I draft Hulk Hogan, I will explain that "with my pick I draft Hulk Hogan as the All American face from the 1980s" or if I draft Dusty Rhodes I will explain that "with my pick I draft Dusty Rhodes as the Poka Dots gimmick from the WWF". Any gimmick the person you draft has used in the past is accessible and can be used and as the owner of that talent you will be able to develop their character however you choose
4) Once the draft has concluded, owners will be able to pick up free agents from the pool once every 24 Hours! So with the initial 16 picks you could also add 7 more wrestlers to you roster in the first week! There will be wrestler packs added on a monthly basis as fresh new faces for owners to pick up once released and trades will be allowed between owners for their talent.
5) In regard to shows, there will be a mandatory weekly show that is posted as a poll with 1-5 as options for the other readers to rate with 5 being the best. There will be a monthly Super Show with a 1-8 point scale for options for the other readers to rate, with 8 being the best. Super Shows with other owners are also possible if both parties agree to the concepts. More than one territory can run shows on the same night, for example the Monday Night Wars, and that goes the same for Super Shows as well. The shows can be written as simple or complex as possible since the concept is to have some fun and show some great wrestling action the way we want it to be!
6) We will tally points from the show polls monthly to give the highest point winner the first pick of the new wave of wrestlers.
