Title: They done found them a Bigfoot, Cletus!

This has been making the rounds, today. A press conference is scheduled for Friday to show off some preserved Bigfoot remains, found in....GEORGIA, so you know it's 100% reputable. The group's Webpage (www.searchingforbigfoot.com) is currently unavailable, no doubt due to increased traffic.

I love Bigfoot/Sasquatch stuff. It's been awhile since another hoax has been in the news.

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Three Bigfoot seekers, including a Redwood City man who released a documentary titled "Bigfoot Lives," claim they may have the body of one and plan to release a photo and what they claim is DNA evidence at a news conference in Palo Alto on Friday.

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, Georgia residents who lead Bigfoot-tracking expeditions, said they found the body of what appears to be a Bigfoot in the woods of northern Georgia and will join local Bigfoot researcher Tom Biscardi at the news conference, according to Robert Barrows, who is publicizing the event.

Barrows' name is known in San Mateo County, where he has made multiple bids as a Democratic primary candidate for the District 12 Congressional seat formerly occupied by the late U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos and now by Jackie Speier.

"I think you'll find that this is the real deal," Barrows said of the alleged discovery.

Whitton, a police officer in Clayton County, and Dyer, a former correctional officer, are not saying exactly where the body was found or where it is now, Barrows said.

Biscardi, a veteran Bigfoot tracker who said he went to Georgia to view the find over the weekend, said DNA tests are being conducted and a team of scientists will study the body, but declined to name any scientists involved.

Officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division said the largest wildlife they are aware of in the state are black bears and white-tail deer.

As far as Bigfoot hoaxes go, it was short-lived one.

Only days after Georgia residents Matt Whitton and Rick Dyer told reporters at a press conference on Friday that they had a dead Bigfoot body, their evidence has been exposed as a rubber ape costume.

The deception was made public by the very company Whitton and Dyer teamed up with to announce their supposed find.

In a statement posted on the Web site of Searching for Bigfoot Inc., "Sasquatch Detective" Steve Kulls said he realized the Bigfoot "corpse" was a fake when the frozen body began to thaw—after the press conference had already taken place.

Kulls wrote that he and a colleague plucked a few hairs from the defrosting body and burned them for analysis, but became suspicious when they "melted into a ball uncharacteristic of hair."

More ominous signs emerged as the ice encasing the body began to melt away.

"Within the next hour of thaw, a break appeared up near the feet area," Kulls wrote. "As the team and I began examining this area near the feet, I observed the foot, which looked unnatural, reached in and confirmed it was a rubber foot."

Kulls wrote that he immediately informed Searching for Bigfoot CEO Tom Biscardi about the discovery. Upon confrontation, Whitton and Dyer reportedly admitted to the hoax.

There is only one Sasquatch/Bigfoot. He's currently employed by Jack Links Beef Jerky and is enjoying a successful career as their pitchman.

No, sir. The REAL Sasquatch is the spokessimian for Kokanee Beer (it's Canadian Beer. Probably too strong for you weakling Americans...).

See? Here's a picture of his tribute statue, depicting him accurately, complete with his signature case of beer!
