Title: X Men: The Animated Series
Description: :D

Jillie - August 8, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
Please please please please someone help me! I've been trying for DAYS to find the X Men Animated Series that ran in the 90s (there are 5 seasons from '92-'97 I think) on torrents somewhere.

Does anyone have the 5 seasons they would like to send me? I'm no computer savvy person so I'm not sure if this is a do-able thing or not.

I really have this intense urge to watch the shows again, though. :(

Thanks!

Just when I thought Jillie couldn't be any more awesome, it turns out she loves that show too...

... I'm still holding out on a DVD release of that. There's also a new X-Men cartoon in development for Nickelodeon.

I don't think it's possible to get more awesome than the 90s show. They've tried to rehash it with XMen Evolution, which sucks. I'm sure I've seen the season 1-5 box set, but it must have been VHS, not DVD. I'm still looking!

Could've been bootlegs. Where'd you see it?

I've got the entire "Tick" series on bootlegged DVD.

Yeah, here's a bootleg set with all 76 episodes on ebay:

There is THIS:
X-Men: The Phoenix Saga

Released back in 2000 or so, it's a somewhat rare repackaging of what was arguably the show's best adaptation. But this DVD package seems a mixed bag. For one, it has Magneto and the Sentinels on the cover....and I'm pretty sure they play little to NO part in the Jean/Phoenix issue.

I was't a big fan of this series, though. The character designs seemed too detailed (overly detailed with shadows, especially) and the animation movement was stiff. Plus, it was way too melodramatic.

I suspect that there's an issue with Marvel and FOX over licensing rights. Explains why we haven't seen "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" on DVD, either. Along with the live-action "Nick Fury" and "Generation X". Marvel also produced Iron Man and FF cartoons at the time...but those were NOT shown on FOX. The FF DVD set was released a few years ago and I think the Iron Man set was/is slated for release as well.

Both Marvel and DC have good track records of dredging up their old crap. So I expect to see full Spidey and X-men sets in the future.

But if you wanna' go old school, check out the REAL first animated appearance of the "new" X-men from 1983:

Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends: A Firestar is Born

--and--

Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends- The X-men Adventure

There's also a REALLY obscure X-men appearance in the 1966 "Marvel Super-Heroes-- Namor the Sub-Mariner" series. The original four, obviously...but I think they're called something like "The International Peace Warriors".

In Spanish, but watch for their appearance:

The Phoenix Saga.. Probably the only part of the cartoon series that I truly remember.

Bumpin' the old, just to letcha' know that "X-men" is currently airing, nightly, on "Toon Disney".

They're airing quite the motherload of Marvel cartoons, as well. The 1994/5 "Fantastic Four", 96/97 "Incredible Hulk", "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends", "X-men Evolution", "Spider-Man Unlimited" and even the awful 1999 "Avengers" are all currently being shown.
