Erick Von Erich - August 4, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)

1. erick von erich
2. the terry garvin school of self-defense
3. wrestlemania 9 review by da wrestling site
4. dawrestlingsite.com
5. wrestling site
6. gravest challenge, hogan
7. history of the intercontinental title matches on wwe 24/7 are
8. nwa wwe 24/7 1985
9. omega: uncommon passion
10. trestan gallo
Oh, my word.. whatever happened to "Angel Williams Spanked"?!
Also, after some correspondence with fellow board members, I have a scary suspicion why we're getting referrals for #1.
SamoaRowe - August 4, 2008 08:43 PM (GMT)
That's awesome that Trestan Gallo came up. He's an indy wrestler from Utah who appeared in my NWA Showcase reviews once or twice.
And what's the scary suspicion (sorry if it's something obvious that I'm missing).

Some board members have been getting IM'd by a certain someone. Someone who has a long history of annoying me n' Scrooge. Sounds like he's STILL stalking us in some small way.
I really don't know what the deal is with that guy. It's frickin' sad that he still follows us around on the Internets.
The Swigg Lebowski - August 5, 2008 02:43 PM (GMT)
I was thinking that you were searching yourself just to consistently be at the top of the list
SamoaRowe - August 5, 2008 03:07 PM (GMT)
I should start doing that.
Metrodome - August 5, 2008 03:53 PM (GMT)
I bet you can't do it more than me!
SamoaRowe - August 5, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
I probably can, since I don't think your name is anywhere on da main page ;)
Metrodome - August 5, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah? Well...um...I...uh...that's my own fault.
SamoaRowe - August 5, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
Review a CD or something. That's an easy way to get on da main page :)
Metrodome - August 5, 2008 06:36 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure I have ADD when it comes to focusing my energy on reviewing something. Any tips? I've started and failed to finish many a time with movies. I don't watch wrestling anymore. I'm pretty sure a music review would bore you all to death.
SamoaRowe - August 5, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty ADD with movie reviews. I tried reviewing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last year and I said "fuck it" after two paragraphs.
I don't feel like I'm knowledgable enough about music to do those reviews, so I'm not much help there.
With wrestling reviews, I'd suggest finding some short shows that you enjoy watching and give it a shot, start out with a play by play format. Those 1993 Raw reviews I do take only about 40 minutes of my time and fly by. Find something like that, maybe some older shows you've taped or something and give them a shot.
Erick Von Erich - August 7, 2008 05:05 PM (GMT)
I'm leaving for Texas in a few hours. Won't be back until Monday night. We have quite a few updates in the queue, so look for A Buncha' Stuff, next week!!
Scrooge McSuck - August 13, 2008 01:35 PM (GMT)
I'm going to try again to add some reviews to the site as often as I can. No guarantees, but I have sent one to ES to be posted soon, and I have another that I'm finishing up right now.

SamoaRowe - August 15, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
The Roddy Piper feature review is just sending me to a 404 error found page.
Jillie - August 19, 2008 07:52 PM (GMT)
Jillie just sent EvE a review of the Seether concert she went to last night, at which she got to meet and hug Shaun Morgan. Just saying...
SamoaRowe - August 19, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Hmm, that should be an interesting read.
In other news, my Summerslam 2008 is on da main site for all to read. I also submitted a review for the Royal Rumble 2008 a few days ago, but that one hasn't surfaced yet.
And last I checked, the Roddy Piper review still won't load.
Erick Von Erich - August 19, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
No idea what became of the Piper article. I remember posting it and checking it. I was deleting some local copies and it looks like that got torched on the site, as well. I'll have to ask Scrooge to re-submit it. But for the time being, it's off of the site.
SamoaRowe - August 20, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
Just a disclaimer, in my Rumble 2008 review when I say that Cena's return was the "surprise of the year" I meant the previous 365 days, not just the month of January in 2008. Of course, I know E knew that and he's just fucking with me, which is scary but fun :).
Erick Von Erich - August 20, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
As long as you don't begin labeling match titles like THIS, we're cool:
Non-title match
Demolition Ax the Machine (one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions) from Parts Unknown weighing 287 pounds
with
Demolition Smash Who Will Kick Your Stinkin' Teeth In (one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions) from Parts Unknown weighing 290 pounds
with Mr. Fuji the Devious One (manager of the WWF Tag Team Champions) from Japan weighing 276 pounds and who used to be one half of the WWF Tag Team Champions
with Fuji's Bowler
vs.
I Didn't Get His Name (already in the ring) weighing 217 lbs from Tulsa, OK.
Mad Dog - August 21, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
I'm going to run through the crapfest of Wrestling Society X over the next however long it takes me. I figure one a week and figuring out where to throw in the bonus web episodes.

Are you makin' fun of Sassy?
Erick Von Erich - August 21, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
Eh.. a lil' bit. Those titles are a pet peeve of mine.
Oh and crank your boom-box! We've got a new random banner appearing on Da' Board!

Remember when I announced Ahmed Johnson's fannypack was accompanying him to the ring in that Nitro review?
That was comedic.
Jillie - August 24, 2008 05:28 PM (GMT)
Currently writing my Jeff Martin concert review! Woo!
SamoaRowe - August 26, 2008 03:40 AM (GMT)
Damn, J.D. Dunn at 411mania is reviewing all the old 1993 Raw's also. He's already up to episode three, but I have episode ten next. I better get hopping on those, I need to stay ahead of him even though he's completely unaware of this website in any shape or form.
ProjectSelfRevolution - August 26, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
I'm gonna start commenting that "Rowe is gonna kill you" on all his reviews now. ;)

YES! I approve.
At least until he presses charges.
Erick Von Erich - August 26, 2008 06:05 AM (GMT)
IF the rumors are true and they're actually in town, I'm going to try to check out the free Public Enemy concert in downtown Denver, tomorrow. I'll do a write-up if I go.
Part of the DNC insanity that's been going on. The whole thing's like Comic Con...only with a buncha' hippies who are serious about their dress-up "cosplay". I saw some dorks dressed up as psuedo-SWAT cops on Sunday...and I'll be damned if I didn't see the same guys dressed up as Cobra Troopers in San Diego, last month.
The Swigg Lebowski - August 26, 2008 03:12 PM (GMT)
Did you get to see this?

Apparently, Griff Jenkins isn't as smart as he thinks he is
SamoaRowe - August 26, 2008 04:04 PM (GMT)
Yes, I almost busted a gut laughing over that when it was posted at TSM yesterday.
The Swigg Lebowski - August 26, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
I love the blatant attempts to show everything the leftists were doing as un-American. "Does anyone here believe in free speech?" As if they're not exercising that exact right, as well as the freedom of assembly, by protesting.
Erick Von Erich - August 26, 2008 05:54 PM (GMT)
That's hilarious. Reminds me of Greg Lloyd of the Steelers, who after winning the AFC Championship game told a live NBC reporter that the Steelers were going to "go down there and win the fucking Super Bowl".
We saw a "protest" on Sunday led by some teenager wearing a black Pabst's Blue Ribbon shirt and a scarf (he was ID'd by the newspaper as being 15... wearing a PBR shirt. Start 'em early!). He was hollering "whose streets?!!" and the crowd answered: "our streets!". They were supposedly supporting an effort to "take back the streets" I'm guessing he's a college resume-padding feller. "Organized and led politcal activitist events in a major metropolitan area". Doesn't that sound impressive?!!
Never mind the fact that the streets were specifically cordoned off (by the police) for THEM. We've never had a problem with not being allowed on the streets...or being fearful of the streets...so I have no clue what the guy was trying to "protest". The streets were "ours" before they started protesting. So I'd be protesting against protests on the streets.
There's a ridiculous event scheduled soon. Involves surrounding the MINT and trying to "levitate" it and shake all the money out of it. Sure, that's not going to work, but a flyer asked attendees to "bring a bag for all of your loot". So some douchebags are expecting to get something on some level. Yeah...I'm expecting the tear gas to fly on that one. If it goes off without any type of confrontation, I'll be impressed.
I'll give the organizers credit for one important thnig, though: there were NO beer vendors in the midst of the event. That's smart. Had someone been selling beer, you can bet we would've had some volatile situations.
SamoaRowe - August 26, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
Ugh, episode 10 of Monday Night Raw was brutal. I was thinking about doing a second episode in a little bit, but now I don't feel like it.
SamoaRowe - August 28, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
Just wondering, if I were to do more Wrestling Challenge episodes from 24/7 Online, would you move them from Flashback Reviews and give them a section with the other 24/7 content?
Erick Von Erich - August 28, 2008 06:12 AM (GMT)
Do they have "Wrestling Challenge" as a regular category on WWE 24/7 Online? If so, I would be okay with giving them their own section. In the two years I've had the TV version, they've aired maybe two episodes of "Wrestling Challenge".
SamoaRowe - August 28, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Wrestling Challenge is a regular feature on 24/7 Online now. They have about ten episodes uploaded already.
SamoaRowe - September 3, 2008 03:11 AM (GMT)
It's a proud day when Mike Shaw is on our main page.
