Title: So...

Mad Dog - July 30, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
I've been thinking about getting back into the WWE through Raw and ECW. The youth movement and new stars have really caught my attention. It seems they really get it with pushing a new generation finally.

But there are some things holding me back. It seems like there's a lot of the typical WWE stupidity running rampant through the product. It also seems like this is all temporary. Like, Batista is going to get the belt and then suddenly it's all the old farts back. Plus, Randy Orton will be coming back and I fucking despise him.

So I'm considering watching again but also thinking it's not worth my time.

I can understand the hesitancy. I can tell you that WWE has put on solid Monday Night shows for about the past month and a half. You do get the occasional WWE stupidity, but they've been going good by including new faces, and mixing up the bag with some lesser used old ones.

That being said, Adamle becoming the new RAW GM doesn't really bode well in my eyes. It's more of the "Evil GM" formula that WWE settles into way too easily. If you're going to get back in now, just be aware of that

I've watched ECW 2 weeks in a row now. I'd say it's been more good than bad. I like Tony Atlas and Mark Henry together. I like having Chris Harris, Evan Bourne, Ricky Ortiz and Colin Delany on the show. I just like that it's a different group of guys getting the push and not the usual suspects. But, they still do dumb shit. Do Morrison and the Miz vs. Finley and the midget really need to be the longest match last night? Should Delany really be heel? Why does Mike Knox have a job? Why does Tazz insist on sucking so much ass as an announcer? Why is Bam Neely useless? Why don't they actually use Elijah Burke?

So you can see. I'm pretty torn on just investing in an hour long show.

Honestly MD, I would say fuck it.

I don't want you to take this the wrong way because I don't mean it in a negative way, but if you have to put THIS much thought into watching wrestling is it even worth it?

I have to say. I really do like Tony Atlas and Mark Henry and this "World's Strongest Champion" deal. It's the first time that I can say I've ever liked Mark Henry's role. Now, they just need D'Lo Brown to interfere in the Hardy match and join the group.

I actually thought that was pretty cool myself. One week I turn it on and I'm all like "Wait, is that seriously Tony Atlas?".

I agree that Atlas has enhanced Henry's spot as a major heel in ECW. I'm not anti-Henry but he's on ECW and there are few (maybe Knox who still has a job?) that could tackle him one on one and make it a fair battle. Matt Hardy may have a chance but I don't think he'll be able to take the title at the next ppv.
