Good job on describing the intensity between Jake and Macho Man. That angle was essentially a retcon that started out of nowhere (the post-SummerSlam wedding reception was not part of the original broadcast), but it became very heated. Jake actually grabbing Liz and saying that he gets off on touching her?!! That was forbidden in the WWF and, as you pointed out, made him THE most hated guy around.
Also of note, this PPV was only priced at something like $7.95. I always thought they were testing to see if Survivor Series could run with non-elimination tag matches. It's funny, because during the 1991 Survivor Series, they announced "This Tuesday in Texas" about halfway through....and suddenly my enthusiasm for the rest of the Series was killed.
Oh...and I never knew about the rest of the card. Good research, there. I never knew that the Harrises were bumping around the fringes of the WWF, back then. I'm surprised Piper/Flair wasn't added to the show, as those two never had a 1-on-1 match on WWF TV at the time. I think all of their matches were either on the MSG-type shows or "Coliseum Exclusives".
I never understood the Piper/Flair thing either. Seemed like it could have been a huge selling point on this card to help add some viewers.
That Jake/Savage feud is just all kinds of awesome.
