Title: I haven't bought any new music in a while...
Description: ... and I have extra money this week.

I want to buy a new cd but I can't really make up my mind on what I'd like to get. Basically, I'm looking for recomendations. Recomend me ANYTHING regardless of genre and give me two or three reasons why I should own it and feel ashamed for not already owning it.

I shall consider the recomendations and if I go with any of them, I'll let you know.

Any Shadows Fall CD-

1. They're tecnically good musicians
2. It's metal with solo's that doesn't sound like Winger
3. I recommend it.

Didn't that CD just drop Tuesday? It's getting uber Airplay on FUSE. I haven't bothered to listen to it though, thinking it was pop-punk/emo shit like most of what FUSE pushes. (That being my one gripe with the station. They play what's popular, just with a different set of people. Sadly this set likes Yellowcard. But they still play AFI and other decentish bands, and no Justin Timberlake, so it's the best option...)

Reccomendation: Rise Against- Siren Song of the Counter Culture

1: The music itself, in my opinion, is good. Kinda a metalish/hardcore/scream type thing. I'm not good with genre-ing things, sorry.

2: They're really kickass dudes, irl. Allways hanging about to talk to fans and the like.

3: I think they're Straight Edge. (See video for "Give it All" for my reasons)

Interesting recomendations, keep 'em coming ;)

So far I've heard of both recomendations but I haven't actually heard them play. That shall change very soon.

Eh, Shadow's Fall never seemed that special to me. They've always sounded like a generic metal band, with nothing really setting them apart.

Ernie, I suggest you buy the latest Killswitch Engage CD, The End of Heartache.

1. Although there's a lot of screaming in the verses, the chorus is very melodic, and damn good.

2. Great guitars and drumming, and the vocalist is really good.

3. I'm recommending it. That's gotta mean something. I too thought they were some generic metal band, but they grew on me, especially the choruses, and I like them a lot now.

I looked up all three recomendations on Rhapsody. Shadows Fall wasn't available on Rhapsody, but Rise Against and Killswitch Engage.

So for I'm really liking both, they are exactly what you guys said they would be and they are good listens.

Unfortunately, Rhapsody is probably the biggest reason I don't buy much music. It's usually "why buy it when I can listen to it on the computer anytime I want."

My discount gets me the Rise Against cd for six bucks at Best Buy so I'm probably going to pick that up this week and maybe Killswitch Engage (depending on my discount too, i think it's 9.99 normally :D )

I was listening to his song on the Office Space soundtrack yesterday. Good stuff.

Ahhh, Get of My Elevator. Great song. If you like that, you should really check some of his stuff out.
