Luger deserves no sympathy from anyone. It's his own fault his life turned to shit and only he can be responsible for being an alchoholic drug abuser unless someone else forced the stuff in him.
At least he's not as bad as Jake Roberts, though.

Jake also seems to realize his lot in life and tries to discourage people going down the path he did. I haven't seen any sympathy about anything anywhere from Luger.

I agree. I'm not one of those people who views drug addiction as a disease. Sure it makes you physically dependent and ill and such, but you ultimately make the choice.
However, not all drug addicts are complete wastes. Like I said, Jake does try to get the word out that he is not a good example of how you should live your life. He tries to make himself better, but he fails miserably. That's still better than not trying, whch is what Luger seems to do.
Than again, this is all just based on what they show in public, but really, that's all I have to go on.

I'm amazed Roberts is still alive. 15-20 years of heavy booze and drugs should've killed him by now. At least though, like mentioned, he tells people not to follow the same path he did. Luger is just an all around dick.
And Luger didn't have any role in Elizabeths death, although he could've stopped her from taking drugs with fucking vodka. Now what idiot takes pills with alcohol!? IT'S PRINTED ON EVERY FUCKING LABEL!
