Title: Yay or Nay: Buddy Rose
Mad Dog - November 5, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
I really miss the debates and arguments that the single wrestler HOF threads would start.
So let's try a new thread series to try and recapture that level of discussion.
Our first subject will be Buddy Rose because I'm fairly sure everyone here has seen enough of the guy to have an educated opinion on him.
So argue away...

For a HOF? No fucking way.
Mad Dog - November 5, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
No, not a HOF type thing. Just is he a good worker or not.

Buddy Rose vs. Jay StrongbowMidnight Rockers vs. Buddy Rose and Doug Somers Part 1Buddy Rose vs. Dr. D David ShultzJust in case anyone needs a refresher (like I did). Yes, he was a good worker and I enjoyed his mic work quite a bit as well.

How in the world does anyone consider Buddy Rose a Hof'er?

:ph43r: This isn't a HOF debate. This is just Mad Dog's noble attempt to recreate the awesome debates those used to create.

This is just, do you consider him to be a good worker or not.

Oh sorry, then to answer that question...ummm...he was OK.

Ditto.

At first, I wanted to say yes. Reflecting on his career, although it was a good, I'll have to say no. He won some miscellanious NWA titles and a few other titles along the way, was a great worker, but something about him doesn't make him in the top. Good feuds, but none too memorable. But then again, I didn't grow up and watch him be one of the top guys in the late 70s, early 80s, but not enough for me.
So, as a "Playboy" Buddy Rose fan, I'm going to say no.
If there were a list of people to pick from, I'd probably pick Rose; but, on his own, no.

He was good at a lot of things, but they were mainly things that a lot of other wrestlers were just as good, if not better at. Like being a sneaky, coward of a heel.
