I don't see any real confirmation, nor do I see any real denial... but it appears that Dewey Richardson, the Missing Link, succumbed to cancer and passed away last night.

EDIT: Uh-oh.. I think Dewey once admitted to steroid use in a shoot interview. Fly ye Media Vultures! Fly!

Slam! Wrestling in Canada is reporting the sad news that the one and only Missing Link, real name Byron John "Dewey" Robertson passed away 3:30 am this morning in his native Hamilton, Canada following a bout with cancer. He was 68. Robertson began his wrestling career in the 1960s as the protégé of Whipper Billy Watson and also appeared under the ring name Troy Steel and as the Masked Crusader.

Robertson's most famous persona was the the Neanderthal, mute, green faced Missing Link, with runs in Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling in Texas and even a brief run managed by Bobby Heenan in the WWF.

Robertson disappeared from wrestling for several years before resurfacing in 2004 on independent and religious-themed events. He was still in amazing physical shape for his age and released an autobiography "Bang Your Head" discussing his career and battles with drug addiction, homelessness, and returning to Canada to turn his life around.

I read the other day that he was ill, but I didn't think he will die so soon.

That sucks. R.I.P.

Can't wait to see "Another Dead Wrestler" headlines with "Met Benoit for Coffee Once" added to it.

There's a connection!!

Missing Link was managed by Bobby Heenan

Bobby Heenan managed Arn Anderson

Arn Anderson was a member of the Four Horsemen, which included Benoit!!!

Quick, call Geraldo and Nancy Grace-- there's a secret underground society of wrestlers who are taking steroids fatally!!!

BTW, all media criticism aside, Missing Link kicked ass. From accounts I've heard of Dewey, he was a pretty good guy, too.
