Title: Boogie Woogie Brown & Biff Wellington Died

prof_plague - July 5, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
I meant to post this over a week ago when I first read it. This was posted Sunday, June 24 on another message board, the day before Chris Benoit died. The two long-time indy stars on the same weekend. Kind of ironic that Willington died a day before his former tag team partner, Benoit. Also, this is Biff Wellington, not Beef Wellington.

Long-time ECWA star Boogie Woogie Brown and long-time Canadian indy star Biff Wellington have passed away in the last couple of days. Wellington debuted at the end of Stampede's existance and actually made several WCW and ECW appearances as well, including a very brief run teaming with Chris Benoit in the early '90s.

Amid all the Chris Benoit tragedy, I have seen very little published online about the death of Delance Clifford Wright -- known in wrestling as Boogie Woogie Brown.

It's a cliche' but you wouldn't find a nicer man than BWB! It was always a pleasure to be around this warm hearted individual.

Boogie wrestled mainly for Jim Kettner's ECWA in Delaware and was always a caring and giving human being, regularly giving time to charities.

Biff Wellington

QUOTE
Shayne Bower was best known as the professional wrestler Biff Wellington. He hailed from Lloydminster, Alberta.

Bower competed as Biff Wellington and frequently tagged with the late Chris Benoit. In 1989, Wellington and Benoit beat Makhan Singh and Vokhan Singh to become the Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Champions. In June 1992, he and Benoit appeared in WCW at the Clash of the Champions, representing Canada in the NWA World Tag Team title tournament; they were defeated by Brian Pillman and Jushin Liger in the first round.

Biff Wellington had a brief stint in ECW. He sustained an eye injury in a freak accident in a match against Taz in 1996. Wellington then became dependent on prescription medication to prevent nerves in his eye from dying.

Bower died at the age of 42. His parents found his body at his home in bed on June 24, as they were concerned because they had not heard from him since June 20. Medical officials examining the body believe he had been dead for a few days, believed initially to be due to a heart attack, as he had suffered numerous strokes in 2006[2]. He is survived by two children, Alexandria and Cody. Incidentally, he was found dead on the same weekend as his former tag team partner Chris Benoit.
