I was thinking it'd just be a buncha' ECW leftovers. But c'mon, anytime you have a steel cage match against Stan Hansen, that's freakin' hardcore.
And for the first time since I've had WWe 24/7, I'm looking forward to the Hall of Fame section. I love Gorilla.
Scrooge McSuck - May 22, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
They better show some good, not-so-overly-used stuff between Gorilla and Heenan.
Fuck it, just air nothing BUT Them two together for an entire month, and I'll be happier than a pig in shit.
eStragand - May 22, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
By the way, never wrestle with a pig. You get shit all over you and the pig likes it.
Almost a shoo-in that they'll show the Gorilla/Brain segment where they're at the Hollywood Old West set. They seem to dust that one off whenever they review the two.
Scrooge McSuck - May 22, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
Hmm... It's either going to be that or... uh... that.
Anyone excited to see Survivor Series 2002? Home to such classic moments as RVD nearly crushing Trips' throat and Rico screaming "Come on, God dammit" at Jeff Hardy when the latter missed his cue.
eStragand - May 22, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
They've been showing alot of 2002-2003 crap on there, lately. I can't get into that period at all.
Scrooge McSuck - May 22, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
Lucky bastard. I had to sit through that every week and it reminds me of why 1993-96 wasn't their worst time frame after all.
dynamite kido - May 22, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
Well at least I'm looking forward to the next month's update. I've barely watched anything on there all month long.
Scrooge McSuck - June 4, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
Checked out a few things on 24/7 so far...
Gorilla Monsoon Hall of Fame Profile: Not the greatest piece of television, but the clips of him and Heenan were awesome, and his HoF speech was really good.
1/27/97 MNW: Blech... Raw was OK, but Nitro was a mess.... can someone tell me how much longer this Four Horsemen nonsense is going to go on?
11/22/85 TNT: The usual. crap.
dynamite kido - June 4, 2007 05:03 PM (GMT)
The Terry Funk/Lawler match is golden. Funk is the most money I've ever seen him as a heel at THAT moment.

The Four Horsemen crap goes on until the summer, at least. The Benoit-Sullivan thing goes on, then the Mongo-Jarrett thing gets time. This is January and I know the Benoit-Sullivan thing is still going on in May. I don't think ithe Horsie crap really ends until Curt Hennig arrives in July.
It was supposed to go on longer, actualy. Jarrett breaks off and tries to form his own stable around July, with Eddy, Malenko and Alex Wright. They were supposed to be called "The Apocalypse", but the WWF debutted "Disciples of the Apocalypse" about a week earlier, so it got scuttled.
I thought the 11/22 TNT was pretty good, though. One main reason: Iron Mike Sharpe's polyester pants!
I also couldn't stop laughing when the old guy in the audience, "Phil", tried to ask....uh, something... to Jesse. Something like: "I just want to ask one thing: I am a fan of yours over the years, and I want to know what is the main difference between the wrestlers who have gone before and the current wrestlers that are training today and gaining an advantage over their usual regiment and how it pertains to what they do in the ring". Jesse and Vince both have a look of "what the FUCK are you saying" on their faces.
Scrooge McSuck - June 4, 2007 05:43 PM (GMT)
I'm sure TNT wasn't taped live either, so someone must've had a sick mind to include that on the original broadcast. I guess they thought it was that funny.
Mad Dog - June 5, 2007 02:07 AM (GMT)
Funk was doing some grade A heel work in that match too. Plus I liked how they played it up that they just took it too far and how Lawler kind of just awkwardly leaves the building ashamed of himself.

They honestly did a great job all around with it. It's honestly one of the greatest angles that I've ever seen. I had this on an old VHS that looked like utter shit, so I was happy to see this in basically perfect quality.
eStragand - June 5, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
The 11/1/86 Boston Gardens show was allright...except for the fact that most of it was shown on a PTW they aired back in November.
But the stuff that wasn't shown on PTW was pretty good and the main reason for watching the show:
-Muraco vs. Piper
Fun match with both guys blading. Muraco with a full beard is weird.
-Bulldogs vs. Harts
Check the title.
-Steamboat vs. Savage
Check the title.
Scrooge McSuck - June 5, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
Garr... I think two of those matches were released on Coliseum Video, but I don't think I saw the PTW with the undercard crap. :)

Since I don't want to make another lame topic, I subscribed to 24/7 Online. $3.95 a month, and you can watch everything from back listings.... THERE'S A KANE CATEGORY! YES! YES! OH GOD YES!
(looks at the choices)
NO! NO! OH GOD NO!
eStragand - June 5, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
I think it was the Thanksgiving special, with a "Feature Match" of Raymond Rougeau/Lanny Poffo vs. The Moondogs. Cuz if you've got someone watching your crap for two hours, send 'em away HAPPY with a Moondogs match!

Everything? Tell us!
And I have a feeling that Kane vs. Shane McMahon is on there...
Scrooge McSuck - June 5, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
... Oh wait, I did see that PTW. I think I recrapped it here.
Scrooge McSuck - June 5, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
http://www.wwe.com/subscriptions/247online/kane/A few good choices and no Kane/Shane makes me happy.
eStragand - June 5, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
And the Girls in Cars video should, also!
http://www.wwe.com/subscriptions/247online/halloffame/Oh yeah, Comcast is offering two additional boxes for a full year, free of charge. I picked 'em up today. They're about the size of a clock radio. So I guess I can watch OnDemand and Extra Innings crap in my bedroom and man-basement, now.
Scrooge McSuck - June 5, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
Notable selections to watch under "Hall of Fame" (as in someone involved is a HoF'er)...
Warrior/Hogan II
Snuka/Jarrett Cage Match... from WCW 2000
The Doomsday Cage Match
GIRLS IN CARS, as noted above (Santana is in the HoF, I forgot)
Eddie Guerrero vs. Brian Pillman from 1/96 Clash
Bret vs. ISAAC YANKEM from Summerslam '95
The 1994 Royal Rumble Match
Hogan vs. Flair from 8/96 Clash
Bret vs. Austin from WM 13
Bret vs. Austin from 4/21/97 Raw
Mad Dog - June 9, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
Primetime was pretty blah this week other than featuring early appearances of Sam Houston and Ron Bass.
Scrooge McSuck - June 11, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
I thought it had a decent amount of crap. Instead of clogging it up with all arena card squashes from the same event, they tossed in some weekend features (including the Islanders heel turn) and jumped around a bit with locations with the arena stuff.
However, the matches DID suck. Hogan/Orton was awkward to watch considering Orton got mixed up because of a lack of ropes to climb.
dynamite kido - June 11, 2007 01:12 PM (GMT)
I just watched the current ECW show that they have (or at least the first half of it) with the awesome Dreamer/Cactus Jack feud. Honestly I know this might not be a big deal to many here, but I remember this feud when it was happening. Definately one of my last mark moments in wrestling as this was around the time I was starting to smark it up. Unreal basis of a fued though....
Mad Dog - June 11, 2007 02:40 PM (GMT)
I hated that fucking episode of ECW with a passion. They accomplished basically nothing other than setting up Jack/Dreamer and that lucha main event was stupid. There aren't count outs in lucha libre.
Scrooge McSuck - June 11, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
The ECW shows have gradually slipped into the repetetive pile, after watching 6 months worth of episodes since last August. I was really into watching the whole Bill Alfonso crap, but since then, nothing is really going on that I haven't seen before (the Best of Cactus Jack DVD covers everything well, so it's not a must-see for me now).
Scrooge McSuck - June 11, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, the Boston show was good if you ignore the crappy undercard stuff that was on the 11/25/86 PTW. Steamboat/Savage, Bulldogs/Foundation, and Piper/Muraco are all worth the rehashing, even if two of the three combinations have had far better matches together.
Mad Dog - June 12, 2007 12:37 AM (GMT)
I was stunned they took Haynes/Orton to a 20 minute draw.
Mad Dog - June 13, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
Those fuckers skipped like an entire month of World Championship Wrestling.
The MSG show they threw on here so far has managed to suck less than their usual efforts do.
eStragand - June 13, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)
Last week's CWF show from August 1984 stunk worse than Scrooge's dried-out sweatsocks after a night of watching kiddie porn.
The big "Hangman's Noose Match" between Kevin Sullivan and Blackjack Mulligan sucked. The noose had a retractable cord which looked to be about 80 feet long. About a minute of brawling, then a ridiculous run-in (with, gasp, a snake) from one of Sullivan's face-painted cronies.
But at least the show wasn't aired from their usual studio. Also fun to see One Man Gang as a babyface with a full head of hair.
Mad Dog - June 18, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
Damn, Super Brawl III fucking ruled. All of the matches minus Rhodes/Payne were good to great.
The S.S. Nintendo - June 18, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
I plan on watching that sometime this week. Is Ventura's commentary on there?
Mad Dog - June 18, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it's on there. He's been on every show he actually did commentary for on 24/7.
Sting/Vader was an awesome match just like you'd expect.
dynamite kido - June 18, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
Superbrawl III motherfuckers!!!!!
The S.S. Nintendo - June 18, 2007 09:27 PM (GMT)
Only part of SuperBrawl III that I seen was the Benoit/Scorpio match on the Benoit DVD, but it didn't have Ventura's commentary, so it sounded like Tony Schiavone was talking to himself.
eStragand - June 18, 2007 09:34 PM (GMT)
I dug the 12/6/85 TNT. Magnificent Muraco gets better everytime I see him. If he was around today, he'd be over, huge, me thinks.
I liked how he was introducing the cast of "Fuji Chan"...and completely skipped over and no-sold Mel Phillips, deliberately.
Oh yeah, was there some connection between Moolah and Blassie? They always seem super-friendly with each other whenever they're on-screen. In this show, Blassie plants a big smooch on Moolah, then has his arm around her while they're sitting on the TNT couch. It's prefectly understandable that they'd be good platonic buddies.. but did they ever get it on, back in the day?
eStragand - June 21, 2007 05:03 AM (GMT)
I haven't received a new episode of PTW or World Class this week. Is everyone else in the same boat?
