Well, tell me.

Mad Dog - April 2, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
Tomorrow is NWA Anarchy tv day. I downloaded some Mid-Atlantic episodes of World Championship Wrestling from 1985 and I'll watch those this week.

Watched some Memphis stuff earlier today from 1987. Mostly interviews with a lot of jobber squashes.

Mad Dog - April 6, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
World Championship Wrestling 7/13/85

Buddy Landell w/ JJ Dillon vs. Rocky King
Bret and Buzz Sawyer vs. George South and Randy Barber
Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette vs. Jason Walker and Terry Flynn
Dick Slater vs. Gerald Finley
Black Bart vs. Gene Ligon
Jimmy Valiant vs. the Barbarian w/ Paul Jones
Terry Taylor vs. Mike Nickols
Arn Anderson vs. Adrian Bivens
Rock N Roll Express vs. Larry Clark and Chuck Levins

Watched "Lucha de Vuelta" this afternoon on Galavison. I think it's the repeat showing of each week's Lujcha show... in case you missed it on Saturday or Saturday night.

Anyways, they had a weird 6-man tag team match:
Scott Steiner, Kenzo Suzuki & Ricky Banderas (w/Konnan) vs. Chessman, Charly Manson & Cibernetico. I got the sense that it was some sort of "Mexico vs. the Evil Foreigners" story.

I was in wrestling heaven last night. In particular the Greg Valentine / Wahoo Mcdaniel match that spawned Greg's "I broke Wahoo's Leg" T-shirt. Great match. Watched a bunch more old-school too, but that was the coolest thing last night.

That's sweet. What the hell did you have that on?

Somebody comped me a load of old mid-atlantic crap a year or two ago. There's about 6hrs on it. It's very hit or miss though, because some of the video quality is just so bad, and sometimes the comp cuts out in the middle of matches. However, that was a full match, and very good tape quality.

ya. The big angle is Los Hell Brothers(Cibernetico Manson and Chessman) vs The Foriegn Alliance (La Secta, Banderas, Kenzo, Los headhunters and Black Buffalo) with Konnan as the leader. Basically all the rudos are in Konnan's group.

Hmm..well, that's good. Means they're playing the characters well, if I can pick that up over the language barrier. Contrast that to modern WWE crap, where you almost need the commentary to understand what the hell is going on.

I also liked how they had a computer animated "skeleton replay" of the high spots (they show the move in slow motion, with computerized skeletal recreations of the wrestlers). You can see how some body parts end up in weird positions.

BTW, didn't Chessman used to be part of a heel stable? I've never watched Lucha closely, but I seem to remember a whole group of "Chessmen" with painted faces.

Los Hell Brothers use to be in La Secta and before that Los Vipers. Ricky Banderas came in and had a big feud with Cibernetico. La Secta seperated and Cibernetico and crew formed Los Hell Brothers while the rest went with Banderas and formed La Secta Cibernetica. Banderas/Cibernetico had a blowoff and triplemania where Banderas was thrown into a Volcano. He came back at Rey De Reyes as Mesias.

Judgment Day '02 thanks to 24/7. Good RVD vs. Eddie match, and I'm watching Stacy Keibler w/ Rev. D'Von & Deacon Batista vs. Trish w/ Bubba Ray

Benoit vs MVP from Backlash 07. Great stuff. MVP brings his A game to keep up with Benoit. I'm really loving this series of matches as MVP tries to hang with Benoit but just comes short.

Melina/Mickie Backlash 07. Best women's match in years. You can tell these ladies don't like each other and just bring the hate. The double split spot was brutal yet a little hot at the same time.
