Title: NBC needs a new sports license
Description: They're showing BULL-RIDING

That's right, NBC is currently showing BULL RIDING. And to make it even funnier, the guy doing commentary sounds like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. I can't stop watching it.

It's like one of those "Strongest Men" competitions on ESPN2 at 2:30 a.m... except it's not 2:30 a.m. Something so bad you just can't turn it off.
Or in my case, too fucking lazy to move my ass 2 feet to pick up the remote and put on something enjoyable. I know I did that when Rollerball was on.

VERY WEIRD to see this here as I was channel surfing and came across this. I actually was going to start a thread here about it being strange to me how NBC will show that and not wrestling.

but wrestling is fake. You see, that's why. It's not a "real" sport.
Bastards.
To be honest, I would LOVE to see NBC pick up some boxing. IF they're desperate enough.

Considering that I just read today that NBC is supposedly the #4 network right now.......I'm sure they are getting desperate, but not BOXING desperate.

This Week on NBC Sunday Afternoon Boxing: Some skinny fuck midget with a record of 0-98 takes on another skinny midget with a record of 1-41 in an 8 round suckfest for the WBHEDKSHDJSS Featherweight Piece of Tin.

The 1-99 Glass Joe will be taking on the 1-99 Gabby Jay this afternoon on NBC.

You know, I think boxing could actually be a decently popular sport again with the right kind of coverage. The problem is, there are too many "options." Too many groups, and too many random boxers you've never heard of. If you narrow it down a little, it might help.

The thing that hurts the popularity of boxing in the US is the moral climate the the US has supposedly shifted too. People don't want to be fans of a sport that has been accused of being affiliated with the mob and gambling since it's inception. That and the fact that boxing is just awful right now, there is no boxer that is charismatic enough to connect with the public anymore either.

Good observations :D...
The second Mike Tyson went down in his fight with Danny Williams is the last time I've watched a boxing event.

I agree, but I think that it's partially because there isn't anyone to focus on. The only boxers I know of without a doubt are the Klitchko's. If you had a program that focused on some different talent with good background stories, it might help the sport.

Boxing is hard to like because too many fights end up coming across fixed. I know my friends and I used to be fairly into it but gave up on PPVs after there were too many questionable decisions made by the refs.
